jomarr Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Watched Insidious and Evil Dead Rising the past couple of days and both were kinda meh. Any other suggestions this year?
commander Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 Watched recently: Knock at the Cabin: Solid 7/10. It had a cute ending. The gay couple was kind of hot lol. The Blackening: 8.5/10. I could not stop laughing throughout the whole movie. Beau is Afraid: 6/10. Just a bloated mess. Loved the first half of the movie, though. From there, Ari tried to be very intelectual and overindulgent about it and it totally ruined the movie imo.
EnigmaticAndroid Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 The Love Witch was cute and the aesthetic was incredibly impressive, but it felt more like a cool concept than a great story. Still an interesting watch. 1
The Man Who Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 Has anybody watched Random Acts of Violence? I watched it last night on Shudder and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a fun slasher flick.
Jay L Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Curious to see if any movie can top Evil Dead Rise as the best horror movie this year 1

The Witch Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 the horror dry so strong this year I've been watching movie from 00s. We hate to see it Vacancy: 10/10 omggg where did this masterpiece charted on the 00s rate? Prom Night: 1/10 f*cking TRASH. Brittany Snow deserved better Wolf Creek: 3.5/10 the first act was not needed. Dumb characters
Tylerbv Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 New Insidious was okay. Kind of boring to be honest to start. The end was cute though.

Sick is a close contender though and is way too underrated. I do have hopes for Talk To Me but until then Ms Maggot Mommy keeps her throne
Roberto Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Did someone watch The Horror of Dolores Roach? That was pretty horror-ish and pure fun too.

It’s a shame it was only released on Peacock as I think that’s part of the reason it’s so underrated. It’s not even available anywhere in the UK to stream, I had to download it. A mess! 1 hour ago, Roberto said: Did someone watch The Horror of Dolores Roach? That was pretty horror-ish and pure fun too. I saw that advertised on Prime the other day, I might have to give it a watch.
Matthew Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Just watched Final Destination for the first time. It started off strong but went off the rails fast. The lack of logic and lack of tension from every death after the third character’s was disappointing. Is House of Wax worth watching? I’ve seen a couple of scenes from it and it actually looks creepy.

Dumb characters Chile I did the same the other day with an awful result, I wanted a 'Terrifier' kind of movie and people on Reddit were suggesting a movie called 'Hatchet' that I never heard before and was labelled as cult great horror splatter according to them.. It was available on Prime so I decided to check.. Literally a 'Scary Movie' kind of movie, terrible with embarrassing acting I was so sure one of the actresses was Heidi Montag. 'Terrifier' was truly a gem. 1
GraceRandolph Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Midsidious: Patrick's Pink Hole needed Lin Shaye or Barbara Hershey so bad.
