I doubt they'd change Charizard that much. I would expect the new starters to have more feathers, horns, etc like they did with the hisuian ones.

 

In hopes the starters are Meganium - Emboar - Empoleon

 

Meganium: Grass/Dragon or Grass/Fairy and make it a tanky special attacker.

Emboar: Fire/Dark or Fire/Ground, four legged (I mean his arms are too long, it may as well wall in all four) and physical attacker

Empoleon: Water/Fighting or Water/Physic

Mentioned this in the Nintendo thread but I've been in Japan for 10 days and somehow I got so hyped and in need of playing a Pokémon game, the Pokémon Centers here are so iconic.

 

So I played Sword which was fine but tbh it felt like more of the same when I played Gold when I was a kid obviously with better graphics but it felt very easy, short and non-eventful, I read reviews about S/V and it seems like they are worse than S/S??? But then I read that LA was amazing so I might buy that one, what I was hoping by now is to have fights with friends very easily and also free open world and non chatty endless monologues but maybe in the ZA one we will.

Graphically and performance wise S/V is worse than S/S but gameplay and story is much better in S/V than S/S.

 

If you are looking for a Pokemon game that completely shifts from the same formula then PLA is for you, it's one of the best Pokemon games ever released, they tweaked the battle system, new catch mechanics, better story, great QOL changes etc

3. Scarlet/Violet base game
4. Sword/Shield base game

imo. 

 

Legends Arceus and Mystery Dungeon DX (and soon Legends Z-A) blow them all out of the water, though.

My playthroughs of pearl and diamond are going surprisingly fast. I will make it through VR by tomorrow and maybe the E4 by the weekend after some training 

 

injecting my 3v3 teams into this has made it fun tho

I was craving some nostalgic childhood happiness, so I decided to install a couple DS games on my... special 3DS and started playing the original Pokémon Ranger for the first time in at least 15 years. Definitely feels like a shorter game than it did back then, but I'm having a lot of fun and some of the boss battles are surprisingly challenging. I miss those silly little spin-off games we used to get in gen 3 and 4.
