They've only skipped the three-year cycle twice. It's crazy to think that Gen 10 might be released next year. Scarlet and Violet still feel recent to me

If we trace back when Pokémon had simultaneous worldwide releases, here are the announcement and releases:

 

Pokémon X and Y:

Pokémon Direct Announcement - January 8, 2013

Release - October 12, 2013

 

Pokémon Sun and Moon: 

Pokémon Direct Announcement - February 26, 2016

Release - November 18, 2016

 

Pokémon Sword and Shield: 

Pokémon Direct Announcement - February 27, 2019 

Release - November 19. 2019

 

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: 

Pokémon Direct Announcement -  February 27, 2022

Release - November 18, 2022

 

So if we follow the usual 3 year new Generation cycle, Generation 10 would be in 2025 and could be unveiled on the next Pokémon Direct usually in February or January the earliest.

4 - 5 months to go then, if they skip then it'll probably be in 2026.

They will probably release Gen 10 in 2026 for the series' 30th anniversary, the same way they released Sun and Moon in 2016 for the 20th anniversary which resulted to Pokemon Z being scrapped.

Another point to consider is that Switch 2's launch year will most likely have Metroid Prime 4, 3D Mario, Mario Kart and a couple of AA titles. Adding two mainline Pokemon games to that lineup would be too much for them.

 

Also knowing GameFreak they're probably still learning how to make their games run on the new console

I don't know why y'all are complaning. It is evident that GF cannot make a proper game in three years long development cycle. I am more than happy to wait than having lacklustre, lagging games.

 

The new Pokemon Legends will probably be multi-platform. It might be even one of the launch games for Switch 2 so one of the reasons that we don't have any news on it is probably that.

Wait why only fully evolved mons? Sometimes pre-evos just look cooler/cuter/better, and I think if they actually manage to outchart their more powerful evolved forms then it's usually deserved lol.

I think Karpy is just implying which Pokemon lines to include, not just those Pokemon (outside the obvious like Kanto Koffing not being included but Galar Wheezing will be) cuz obviously a Pokemon like Snom will be outcharting a Pokemon like rocks with a Marge Simpson wig

I honestly think we're looking at a F/W 2025 release for Legends Z–A (which I really don't think is a bad thing, considering the technical performance of their last few games). The fact that it was announced with no actual gameplay footage, hardly any concrete information  and only a vague "2025" as a release window, plus the fact that it's been radio silence since then, all points that way. However, in that case I definitely expect a smaller/spin-off title developed by a different studio to come out before that – whether that's a new Mystery Dungeon or Snap game, the recently teased Pokémon Colosseum, or something completely different.

Playing thru Eternal EX for the 2nd time. Well, just the latter part. The shirt w/Flare, Lysandre, Xern, final gym & E4. Playing it on insanity mode, I gotta tell ya. They've been high-key tugging at the kid from all directions. 
 

Once I'm thru with this, ima finish Ren Plat and or Radical Red. Ima have to restart RR now that I can just use my pro controller.
