The main characters are said to be part of a much bigger mystery that will linger throughout the series. That alone is more interesting than all the seasons with tr(Ash) combined.

I thought the finale was really cute. It's a cute way to introduce the new anime and new protagonists as well. It wasn't a sad ending for him and Pikachu, but the opposite. 

 

For a moment I thought he and Pikachu were parting ways because of the two paths and almost had a heart attack.mp3. But it was a very cute moment. No need for a dramatic ending .

 

Not to mention that they have revisited the 20 years of anime throughout the last arc and the last 11 episodes. They have brought back all his friends and past pokemon (including Pidgeot and Butterfree ). There wasn't much they could do tbh.

No I wasn’t, and in the context of your last response in regards to trailer and description being an indicator of a better series, it’s not, so why would anyone care about that?

Correct. From what we've been given so far, it's already a far more interesting concept than tr(Ash) just going around collecting gym badges while having silly side plots which add nothing to the overall story. We needed an anime refresh badly because it was becoming stale and there was nothing else for tr(Ash) to do since he became champion. His arc is done and nostalgia stans need to get over it too. Finally time for something new!

And until we see this fresh new concept executed…you’re overselling it 

 

What we DO know:

A recurring legendary (Rayquaza, much like Ho-Oh)

Disobedient starter (old)

Female protagonist wants to conquer her fears (old) and catch them all (old)

Male protagonist wants to battle legendary Pokémon (somewhat new but could become repetitive and stale real fast, like Goh’s goal)

A Pikachu with a prominent role

 

and it’s a given they’re going to adapt the Scarlet/Violet storyline at some point, which they would’ve done anyway had Ash stayed.

 

If you’re happy to see new faces, cool! But let’s not act like we’re about to get something groundbreaking compared to anything we’ve gotten before

- Female Protagonist being the lead (new)

- Finally an anime series without annoying trAsh (new)

tr(Ash) not being in the new series automatically makes it better
