I don't watch the anime so I can't speak to that, but there is a lot of programming out there marketed towards children and younger generations that is of very high quality, so critiquing something based off its lack of merit I think is warranted regardless of who the intended audience is. 

 

I will say, however, that it sounds like a lot of people have been displeased with the anime for some time now (in this thread anyway) so I'm curious as to why they keep watching. Then again, I stuck with Riverdale for years so I kind of empathize

Gotcha, gotcha. I've been tempted to watch a couple times, if only because I've loved the games for basically my whole life but have never pulled the trigger (don't think I ever will but who knows)

me dragging y’all for getting worked up over the anime intended for children when any 2 year old with half a brain can body any of the Pokémon games since at least gen 6 and i’m over here screaming about the difficulty level for this toddler game

This brings back memories of 2011 me being CONVINCED that Gen 5 would give us Gen 3 remakes because this theme sounded like a demented version of the Frontier Brain battle theme from Emerald in some parts  

 

I used to obsess over all the "Hoenn easter eggs!1!" that GameFreak supposedly put in B/W, but in hindsight it was just wishful thinking  Good times!

Yeahhhh Joe himself is a PR filter getting a PR-filtered account from a company that knows its internal position on Nuzlockes (which… it is already common knowledge that they’d be uncomfortable with an IP that markets to children officially associating with a gameplay approach that implies fainting = death) would not be well-received upon being widely exposed.

3rd they just remove Battle Tower completely

omg same  they made new sprites for most of hoenn pokemon while they just animated the old spirtes of gen 1 2 4 pokemon and i was like A-HA! but in hindsight it was like the biggest confirmation of hoenn NOT getting remade in gen 5
