Now try her post-Stark Mountain rematch :fan: I’m pretty sure it’s the toughest trainer battle in the franchise outside a battle facility (unless we count the final postgame trainer battle in Legends :skull:)

The thing is that Sinnoh Pokedex kinda sucks (i aint got time for national dex:skull:) which I feel like they purposely make it that way to ensure Cynthia’s team will overpower you. Most of their aces like Staraptor, Luxray, Lucario will get OHKO by Garchomp/Milotic. I mean I believe they give Torterra and Empoleon their Ground and Steel typing for the same reason :skull: My poor Toterra when that Ice Beam hits :chick3:

That’s just the thing I love about Cynthia - she has insane type coverage, which is what takes her above and beyond other champions and high-level trainers. If you have it, she’s likely prepared for it. I still haven’t actually done her toughest BDSP rematch, but I’m about to try a Ghost type run where I try to get that far (and the whole reason I want to do the run is solely for the challenge of that specific battle). The Sinnoh dex is definitely quite restrictive in many areas, but I like it even more that way, honestly, because it demands more inventive ways to strategize (unless you intentionally overlevel, of course) instead of giving you easy access to all the answers. The Sinnoh region is also great, IMO, at making you go out of your way if you want to find powerful Pokémon like your own Garchomp. Everything in Sinnoh feels like you really earned your achievements (with the exception of the friendship system in the remakes, which kinda sucks).

SDFGHJGFDSA right be fore this he posted 125: "Ash & Goh took leave of each other" which is amazing and now THIS

125 is the conclusion of the Cynthia EP asdfghjkjfdsa. DOES SHE WIN :duca: @Antonini could it really be :jonny5:

Omg QUEEN BETTER GATHER THAT RUNT!

HOW DARE HE EVEN HAVE THE NERVE TO SUGGEST HE WOULD EVER SURPASS HER!

Truly hope she gathers him the next episode. Tbh I was on the edge of my seat for this battle cuz I was mad Ash even managed to kinda level the playing field.

Also, KIII at the team rocket preview and Jesse saying Ash is doomed since he only has Lucario and Cynthia still has Garchomp! ?

Cynthia showing why she’s THAT ***** :WAP: Leon is insanely OP basically by brute force, and Ash has plot armor all around. This match has made it very clear who the real monarch is

One of the most popular excuses for No Level Scaling, is "BOTW doesn't have level scaling either" (Even though all the basic enemies level up the further u progress) but now i found out even the Blights (aka Gyms) scale in HP & Dmg per Blight defeated too :toofunny3: GF could've EASILY done this with Badge count but NOPE!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPs1sH4pbJE

Tbh now that it's Open World there's no reason for early Gyms not to have 6 Pokemon :thing: in SWSH the mons available pre-1st gym was 78. SV is gonna be so annoying to micromanage (which is the LAST thing i should be doing in an "open world" game). I can't solely do 1 Path without then steamrolling through the other 2. So i'll constantly have to figure which is the "correct" section of the 3 paths to hit next if i want some ounce of challenge.

I really enjoyed Legends. An open world Pokémon game makes so much sense. I’m just concerned that SV will be too easy. I was really not impressed with Sword and Shield. It really felt like their target audience were 5 year olds

You’re totally right. Honestly, for SwSh, I actually think they were going for literal kids more than anyone else, to the explicit detriment of the experience of players who grew up with the series.

Little kids who’ve played at most a couple other games in the series won’t care if you remove tons of Pokémon. Kids won’t care is you give them the most broken legendary Pokémon in history, make it a mandatory CPU partner for the climax battle that does five times as much damage as the player, and allow it into the nerfed Battle Tower. They won’t really notice, much less mind, when the story railroads them down the next hallway simulation because the Awesome Unbeatable Champion with his Super Cool Flaming Lizard will take care of the whispers of actual plot instead of you. They won’t mind the abysmal writing and villain motivation or loudly telegraphed “plot twist,” or that they removed tons of moves, or that you can steamroll through every gym and the final tournament without blinking, or that there are no dungeons that are more interesting than a straight line, or that the cities are boring (one is literally just a straight single corridor and a gym battle, like???), or anything else.

Even the good things like competitive training being so easy or the accessibility of Pokémon and items are at least partially a result of making things easier on children. The legendaries in the Dynamax Adventure raids being guaranteed catches, the starters being designed as more expressive and humanoid, Raihan and Leon in general - all for the kids. They buy it up, families buy it for them if there’s a Switch in the home, sells like hotcakes on the franchise name and the power of the Switch, no substance needed.

You can’t even rematch Leon at higher levels with a full party. It’s ridiculous. Even BDSP let’s you do that, and with higher levels than any other trainer ever! PLA on the other hand is unforgivingly brutal and throws that final postgame battle at you with zero remorse, the toughest battle in the whole series in my opinion. Beautiful.

I really hope SV come with like… at least some bare minimum features to make things challenging for people who want it to be. The way they peaked in challenge options with B2W2 which sold terrible and were unfairly and violently maligned by most of the fanbase though, maybe that’s what burned them on making a decently tough game from 2013 through 2020 :rip: (besides USUM, I’ll give that one some points)

Like at least give us a Battle Tower that isn’t nerfed to hell and that doesn’t allow legendaries, like.

We all saw the trajectory they were going with when they started introducing challenge-numbing mechanics like forced Exp-All in X/Y, Elite Fours without full teams, overly simplistic routes (aka SwSh), etc. :gaycat6:

Gotta get that sweet 4-year old parents money when Little Timmy can't lose in a Pokemon game. God help year 2022 Little Timmy if he ever had to go through Gen 1 (R/B/G) Mt.Moon. :matty:

I just don’t understand what’s so hard about introducing a ‘challenger’ mode for players that want to experience more difficulty in the game :ace:

Also I hope Cynthia wins shdjfjf I don’t want to see her lose to Ash idc idc idc. He’s been a loser all now so he can continue!

i agree but i actually want a seperate ubers battle tower mode but let the ai use restricted legendaries too. :jonny5:  i swear there was a mode like that in something. i wanna say PWT but not sure if it was

It mostly just sold poorly because of marketing stuff. It’s hard for consumers to differentiate a similarly-named product just a year after the prior release, which is part of why third versions and second sets of paired versions almost always sell mediocre numbers compared to the first titles in a generation. One would think Game Freak would understand this and not blame it on the challenge level, but after their weird mobile phone comments, I wouldn’t put it past them to not get it honestly.

I think that would be a super fun concept - the more challenge the better! It would feel really rewarding to be able to actually beat that.

thank god modders will fix the level scaling in no time, ever since swsh/lgpe pokemon games require mods to be good enough.

yeah in botw it was as simple as each ganon adding 1 flag + when u kill 10-20 of a specific type of enemy their upgraded versions would appear. they could have done something similar to SOS battles like "if you kill/catch 20 slowpokes, slowbros will start to appear" etc. OR make us do a rather pacifist route like in PLA "if you feed 20 cubone, kangaskhan will start to appear" but of course it won't happen. not even mods would bother to script that :rip:

on the bright side, pokemon luminescent version is becoming the best pokemon mod there is, they might even fix the chibi models in the future :jonny5:

also they will be adding all the mons + forms + maybe megas and some custom forms like crystal onix :jonny5:

Yuh can u imagine the replayability with level scaled teams, u can replay the games in so many different orders :jonny5: They will probably have to mod in a REAL skip cutscene button too, cuz SWSH's was a JOKE :toofunny3: & considering Ohmori is directing i'm expecting a 15 min cutscene at every Gym, Titan, & Star :mazen:

Have u played Lumi on the Switch yet? I've looked into it and it looks easy enough to patch, but idk idw risk it :rip: especially when i prefer Renegade's artstyle in the first place :rip:

we need a mod that buffs 4 gyms to 40-60 levels and the other 4 to 60-80 and make e4 90-100. buff team star a bit and let us explore stuff and do titans until we get "overleveled" to lv 40~ and do the gyms OR make this a challenge and go directly against lv40 full teams :jonny5:

i played an old version up until 5th gym but too many things were missing back then now im waiting for the official release of 2.0

also i can't update my base game to 1.3 for a while :monkey:

patching was easy but u need to follow some steps and check in game if it worked because there are layers to this patch. also i think it drains battery a bit too fast because EVERYTHING is modded and for some reason they thought that we needed 60fps or something in a pokemon game :deadbanana4:

i probably won't have the time to play this game until next year tbh, preferable while waiting for SV DLC, but once i have the time i will try to get 5 star trainer card(E4+battle tower 100 streak+master contest+100 underground statues+natdex) which you can do offline in this game without any trades or whatever :jonny5:
