Agreed with this. There have been a number of queens who mention being close on the show, but whose relationships were never shown on air. 

 

Meanwhile, post-S9 we have to endure the tragedy mirror every few episodes when a random queen has clearly been prodded into asking a personal question (that they don’t always care about) to whoever is about to go home. 

 

It’s so much better in the moments when they just let the queens organically guide things (this goes for everything else on the show too… more challenges where the queens have to write their own material rather than follow awful acting challenge scripts, please).

Revisionist history is making Luxx and Mistress seem like they weren’t seriously polarizing especially compared to Sasha/Anetra who were actually super popular. Even Mistress just got dragged in here a few days ago for being talentless

Luxx and Mistress were popular because of their loud supporters, but there were a good amount of people also lashing them and saying they were too mean and being bullies, for doing arguably less than Jane is doing in just 2 episodes

The main debate I see is not that Jane is being too mean (other than from the usual baby kumbayah drag race fans and their mother Dawn) but that she’s just… a milquetoast villain who’s not playing the role very well. The little bit of drama that this show gets usually gets put out by some other girl trying to make peace (see: Marcia vs Malaysia) but this time it was Jane rolling over right away cause Amanda clapped back and Plasma snatched her up. Kinda lame for a villain who’s gunning to be the big baddie of the season.

I genuinely do not see that much Jane backlash in that same vein, only that she got clocked with ease and has mediocre drag for the way she talks to other girls. That’s exactly why she started quaking when Amanda read her right back because even she knows she’s not all that. And that’s not very becoming of a villain imo!

I mean, I've seen arguments on the topics that I mentioned and even more on social media and ATRL. People were literally asking to not cast queens like her anymore. Now, I know social media is an echo chamber and whatnot, but the sentiment is quite popular from my own anecdotal experience.

 

The thing with Luxx and Mistress is this: if you (not you specifically, you know what I mean) have a problem with Jane coming for Amanda out of nowhere because it was uncalled for, then I expect the same energy for Luxx and Mistress toying with Loosey's feelings when they knew she was already cracking as it was also uncalled for and done to make good TV. That's when the fandom started to turn on them and the whole "bullying" argument came to be, because from what I remember people loved their shady and messy attitudes for a good half of the season.

 

With Jane, I don't know how people are missing that she's playing the whole time, probably doesn't believe half of the things that come of her mouth and you can tell because she's always smiling after making a joke since she can't keep the "mean girl" façade up the whole time. Like, she was fully crying when Hershii got sent home. I get that could make for a weak villain for some people (+ the fact that she backtracked with Amanda as soon as she met some pushback), it's totally understandable, but to me it's commendable how much she's trying to make good TV at the cost of potentially being hated by everyone.

 

I'm not saying that people should treat Jane nicely no matter what, but remember that actions have consequences and if you like villains, you shouldn't sh*t on every girl who's being a little mean and messy on TV because other queens are gonna notice the fandom's reception and act accordingly when they get on the show.

10 negative comments does not prove your poşnt especially there are tons of supports on these pages too. you’ll need to count both positive and negative comments about them and compare the ratio to plane’s. the result will give you if you are the biased one or the ones you call revisitionists…. feom what I see the dislike of Jane is not any lesser than them (if not more) and this was lile the second episode we see her.. lets wait for a couple more weeks when things will get more heated
