Im like 90% positive that people found Elliott's instagram from before drag race and she had Trump support posts on it lol

Elliott seems like someone you can't really give the benefit of the doubt that one day they'll learn from their mistakes because they're so lost in their own BS and ways of thinking. The recent comments are giving that they've learned nothing from why their comments upset people. Also I hate to tell Elliott but just because something was "okay" to say in the SOUTH doesn't make it okay to say, anyone aware of history knows the south normalized a lot of deeply racist and downright awful behavior.

Does anyone ever occasionally look at Sherry Pie's IG? It's so sad and kinda creepy. I feel like she is still posting photos from the year her season aired or before and it's like stepping back in time :rip: Also I find her drag downright disurbing.

To me Elliott simply comes across as a deeply ignorant person (probably because of her upbringing), the kind that has no ill will but doesn't understand what they're saying is wrong. I don't think she's close with most girls from her cast and I wonder if someone ever tried to explain to her why what she says is problematic.

Y'all swear she did something so devastating and hurtful. Get off your high horses. Don't people get tired from preaching, posturing and clutching their pearls as if someone just committed murder? Must be exhausting.

These kids get off feeding their low self esteem  with drag race neoliberal performance woke banter. (It's a very RPDR thing) THEY live off fake moral superiority. It's giving maga teas while oddly calling anyone maga for not aligning to their pre approved group moral messaging. The woke performance rpdr mob are no different than judgmental maga Christians. It's like they just double down on this mean girl clique mentality and call you ignorant for not following along the lunacy. No thx. I believe in allowing people to make mistakes and giving ppl the benefit of the doubt. Y'all just looking for things to be mad about. How boring. Are some girls worthy of cancellation? Duh. Y'all barking up the wrong tree.

Anyways. This is a very  rpdr fandom phenomenon  Mariah Carey Entertainment GIF

I just don't understand why Elliott is bringing up all the drama again. Have her gigs dried up and feels like she could use some controversy? It comes across a bit desperate to cling on the ONLY thing she's remembered for 3 years later.

Elliott seems to be a bit... lacking cognitively and I genuinely think she either can't understand what's wrong or isn't able to change her ways of thinking by herself. A dense diva. :skull:

Why is Heidi and Jaida's podcast the lowest rated thing on moguls of media YouTube channel? Damn. The views are REALLY REALLY LOW.  I stopped watching long ago.  Where did it go wrong? 🥲 i blame Heidi. She changed. Willam influenced her heavily. Heidi became so negative and bitter. (Her all star run was the final nail in the coffin) Jaida doesn't deserve that.

True and this is NBB's perspective on the whole controversy but keyboard warriors just can't grasp that concept

Elliott has been called out by multiple queens for her microaggressions during the filming of season 13 and evidently chose not to educate herself whatsoever on how what she said was harmful. For her to be interviewing about this three+ years later pushing the same points she was back then (calling Symone’s durag runway a “caricature”) shows that it’s gone beyond ignorance. The time for giving her the “benefit of the doubt” has passed: she’s continually attacking her Black cast mates and degrading their work on the season wherever she can, and she’s stooped low enough that that’s now on the YouTube channel of a transphobic and fellow blacklisted queen.

“Y’all swear she did something so devastating and hurtful” because she did. Drag and Drag Race cannot be a safe space when the queens are forced to interact with a racist. It has wider implications than the queens on that cast, who even then are already more than enough for this to be an issue. Black queens are the most belittled and hated queens by the fandom, and fans seeing that behaviour defended and reinforced by queens cast on the show as well as by fellow fans who think Elliott was right/stannable/getting unfairly cancelled only emboldens them to continue degrading the work of these artists.
Nothing about calling out a racist queen who refuses to educate herself is “neoliberal performance woke banter”, “moral superiority”, “maga teas”, or “preaching, posturing and clutching their pearls”, and if you “stan both” a racist and a transphobe you’re actively contributing to the hatred Black, trans, and Asian queens continue to receive. You’re no better than Elliott, but birds of a feather do flock together after all.

As someone above stated- she is just kinda dumb. Most racists and bigots are- in fact- dumb. They are not able to think for themselves and their opinions and views are instilled in them by the culture and people they grew up around. It takes lot of intelligence and intellect to overcome the things that were taught to you. She just doesn't possess those things. And I, nor are other posters, defending Elliott rather than explaining why she is incapable of understanding or "teaching herself" about why what she said was wrong. And that's why that one poster is calling people bullies and saying there is a MAGA-like mentality.

I think.

Racism is learned behaviour. If you have the intellect to learn it then you have the intellect to unlearn it. Her castmates tried to help educate her and she rejected them. What she's doing is entirely on her.

That's a very simplistic view of the issue to be honest. Yes racism can be unlearned, but so can be religious radicalization (or any kind of radicalization really) yet you don't see that happen often. It's a - sometimes life - long journey where every day you learn something new and adjust, but that knowledge has to come from somewhere. As far as I know Elliott has been called out on her behavior and mistakes but no one has explained to her why such things are wrong which was the point I made in my previous post. Not saying that anyone is entitled to be educated by others, but sometimes you need people close to you to put you on the right path because you might not be able to do so yourself when you've been raised in a certain way/environment.

And to be clear I'm not trying to defend Elliott in any way, shape or form, but I do believe that the response of the fandom at large is a bit exaggerated when it's clear this isn't a Sharon Needles situation where the intent was clearly of malicious/mocking nature, just to make a comparison. I mean, there's a reason why some queens (like Alexis Mateo) have openly defended her in the past.

I mean Elliott isn't radicalised so that's largely a moot point :skull: she's not trying to unlearn propaganda fed to her from birth and reinforced by everything and everyone she interacts with. They're completely different instances.

Elliott isn't entitled to be educated by her castmates but it's obvious she has been called out for her behaviour and has the resources to educate herself. She is choosing not to. Kandy's text explicitly laid out to Elliott exactly what she did wrong, which is an ample jumping off point for understanding why it was wrong. She chose and continues to choose not to understand.

This is also the same Alexis Mateo who defended Sherry Pie. Not sure she's the moral compass Drag Race fans should be aligned with.
