Cbreezy Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Attitude Era fan here. The current product isn't a patch on then and I don't feel it's been anywhere close since like 2010/2011 (the latter HBK/Taker runs, CM Punk explosion, Y2K later imperial phase, Orton's ascend, and much as it pains to say...Cena). At the same time, I really salute HHH's out-of-the-box approach. He clearly "gets it" and very much so from the perspective of pushing the company forward. I just wish they'd embrace an edgier format. I guess they make so much from marketing to the young that there isn't a business justification for stopping that. But, from an attempting to watch regularly standpoint, it just makes the product kinda corny. Especially when some of the talent isn't charismatic to begin with. Giving them free reign to find their character, quirks, and quips that may end up being gold is what made the Attitude Era and even a little of what followed so genius. Tuned in for the first time in a long time for the Netflix debut and watching Rhea Ripley on the mic, for example was PAINFUL. Similarly, much as The Miz is a wiz on the mic and a great overall character, his brand of corny kinda represents the product at large to me and is why it's so hard to watch. 1

Jamie£er Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I like Candice LeRae but she needs to up her gear game. Such ugly/basic attires and then you've got Tiffany who SERVES week after week. At least she's not wearing those horrific wings to the ring anymore I guess. Nice to see B-Fab getting involved with Chelsea and I agree Piper needs a reign this year! Hard agree with the comment here about Rhea on the mic, omg it's painful I just skip through because if I hear her drone on and on about "Mami's on top" one more time UGH, Nia QUEEN can also be grating on the mic but she's memeable and has been hilarious in her matches, I love her comments to her opponents and her messing with the crowd.
Jamie£er Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Just imagine if we had the WWE/TNA partnership with the 2007-2013 Knockouts/Divas with todays opportunities... so many dream matches

You nailed exactly how I feel about the modern product and why I only watch on very few occasions. The top of the card feels like a bunch of mid card to upper mid card talents with no organic star power or charisma. This would be fine if the young talent in NXT showed signs of potential but they are even more dry and ordinary looking . Everything is in ring focused that the other aspects of wrestling (appearance and memorable segments) get neglected. No one has had a Austin beer truck moment or a Undertaker trying to embalm Austin scene. Another reason why the product could be bad is the fans. Wrestling has a very PC fan base now and even if HHH wanted to push the envelope I feel the fans wouldn't let it happen. A storyline that immediately pops into my mind is the Trish and Vince angle. No way would that storyline fly today but back then it was so instrumental in making her the biggest baby-face in the division. The modern heels aren't detestable enough for me. 1 1
Jamie£er Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Not they were going to have her return as part of the Wyatt Sicks who asked for that
Djbrian Posted January 23 Posted January 23 The Alexa thing is weird because on one hand she doesn't seem like a HHH girl (he overvalues in ring) but on the other hand Liv Morgan got a push and they're about the same to me in that regard.

Jimmy. Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Push Jordynne straight to the MR. I wonder if she'll be the extra security that Piper and Chelsea discussed. That JD spot yikes. Glad he's ok that could've been so much worse.
J a y Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I'm glad WWE have created and uploaded NXT on YouTube – will be streaming until Netflix has more shows and classic content available. Black and Gold is arguably the best in-ring action the company has ever produced, although the Attitude and Ruthless are more famous, has more well-known characters
J a y Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Triple H to be inducted and headline WWE Hall of Fame 2025. Revealed to him in a meeting with Stephanie McMahon, Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels at WWE HQ . The King of Kings reportedly became emotional, joked that he was going to "kill" Nick Khan. His wife, Steph, said she was also as surprised as he was, finding out today
