Absolutely, and that's something I'm grateful I figured out early in life. I see so many people suffering from stress, anger and mental anguish and, most times, it's based on the silliest and most meaningless things, much of it self-inflicted. One thing I feel people don't realize is that they have a choice, at any given point to do better for themselves; all it takes is effort, even in the smallest of ways that can make a big difference. I was, personally, stuck working a job that was just sucking the life and spirit out of me, for years. Until I became brave enough to step out of my comfort zone and no longer accept that for my life. Literally, even with all of the experience I have, it took me 11 months to find a new job that paid close to what my last job did, as I didn't want to take too much of a cut. I'm now enjoying the still very beginning of a three-day weekend; I walked into my new workplace this morning, was greeted by a skeleton crew and was told, "Hey, everyone's actually off today..." Thank you! It absolutely is freeing; I just have a brand new perspective on life, now that I'm able to actually live it in a way I was unable to do so before. I'm going to be taking this time to better myself in virtually every way. I've always been the type to take things head on, especially now when I see how it pays off for me positively in the end. I hear the little comments people make in everyday, casual conversation and it's just all so very revealing how people tend to not believe in themselves, their abilities or that there are always better opportunities out there. Of course, those in control are more than happy to allow people to believe that way. 1
