choerry Posted July 1 Posted July 1 2016 was the most consequential election of our lifetimes (up to now) and it's going to follow us for as long as we live. 3

People's rights are on the line but they haven't learned a thing from 2016 and are willing to punish America at large for their arrogance. democrats already are on twitter blaming minorities for not wanting to vote for him seems like they accepted their loss already 1
mig123 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 (edited) let's go back in history and teach you guys a lesson Ronald Reagan had the worst cognitive issues while being president. people criticized him more than biden for his old age and cognitive issue… yet he was able to neutralize "old age" and so can Biden… people called for him to drop out and to be replaced ronald reagan won the re election by the biggest landslide in History! He won 49 states and 525 electoral college votes… Edited July 1 by mig123 2
GhostBox Posted July 1 Posted July 1 This is just even more proof senile Biden would be better than letting Trump win. He would literally cause havoc given this decision 4 1

He is underwater in swing states, and the American public got to see that the biggest concern voters have of him (his age/mental state) are actually worse than feared which is only making it more likely that he doesn't win, and Project 2025 is able to come along and take what little rights we have remaining away from us. You should be furious at Dem leadership for letting this happen (and at Republicans obviously for making it happen). 1

Great808 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Shambles and they/y'all deserve it too for ruining this damn country the past few years! Trump winning will be the exact equivalent of Thanos returning in Endgame but actually winning and completely ******* everything that stood in his way tf UP!!!! 1
bad guy Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Interesting how nobody in media is calling them power-hungry like they did with the Trump family/GOP when this is obviously what's going on here. No rational person would be okay with putting such a feeble man with such cognitive decline out to "save democracy". So either all that fear-mongering about Trump is bullshit, or they are just as power driven and corrupt as they claim the right to be. Or they're genuinely idiots that think Biden is perfect for this job. All horrible scenarios regardless 4

I better vote for dying dementia Joe just not to feel guilty after, when everyone will be prosecuted and deported with no mercy or limits. It's literally not a games anymore but a sick reality what maga did to our country 😑 Edited July 1 by Gottasadae 3

I don't pretend to know how it was during Regan's time, but I'd imagine it was easy to get people to forget about his old age and cognitive issues. Social media is having a field day with Biden's "senior moments". It will be on everyone's mind by the time they mark their ballots. This will not go away. 1 1

No dem can win the Whitehouse without Wisconsin Oh no, it's definitely late for this election season but they could've started something as soon as they saw the negative percentage against Biden hopefully they do it afterwards? But the way Democrats are slow and passive af, I doubt it will be happening..

That article is from over two years from before the 1984 election. During January 1984, he was already polling ahead of Walter Mondale nationally by 16 percent (source). And per that same source, he had much higher approval ratings than either Jimmy Carter (who I desperately wish beat Reagan) and Gerald Ford. Both of whom went on to become one term presidents. This was two years before the unemployment rate fell to like 7% in 1984, before the Beirut bombings that killed Americans, and before the invasion of Grenada. By January 1984 Reagan's approval rating was 54% among registered voters and the NYT had a poll that had him 16 points above Mondale. https://www.jstor.org/stable/418804 So had Biden been a president that actually showed strength and provided results Americans could see and most importantly feel then yes his campaign could have shifted focus away from his cognitive issues and toward his record. But there is no record to fall back on for Biden, nor any strong international leadership in the way Reagan was perceived. A more apt comparison would be to Jimmy Carter although at the very least Carter did the best he could for peace in the Middle East. Edited July 1 by bad guy 4
