It was decided based on feedback from the spring 2023 town hall to transition this thread back to being election specific. With the Civics section being able to house specific threads on many issues, we think having a generalized politics thread is not completely necessarily anymore. 
 

With that said, please continue to be respectful and remember that you do not always need to respond to everyone.

Voters in 2020: *elect Democrats to majorities in the House, Senate, and win the White House for Joe Biden*

2022: *Roe v. Wade gets overturned*

Democrats have to do a bit more to convince people they'll do anything on these basic issues. The most compelling argument is preventing Trump from getting more SC picks. But, Democrats need to do more and actually lay out plans rather than just nonstop complaining about not having enough votes in the House and Senate.

True, but not every voter are circle jerking on internet memes :gaycat2: The good thing for Biden it's happening now and he's really have a lot of time to recover till September. Anyway it's not only his fault but a fail of his entire team that didn't prepare him properly for such event... Back in a time, Reagan was also labeled as too old man for an office with Alzheimer and early stage of dementia and look how he crushed every Debates with jokes that basically gain him an ultimate landslide support. This is basically what Biden badly needed during this Debates, especially at the beginning :giraffe:

The reason why Roe v. Wade got overturned has nothing to do with Biden or the Democrats. Trump electing as many justices as he did during his term did irreperable damage to our country and he only scratched the surface of the Republican's long-term goals.

SCOTUS really lucked out with the timing of their decisions. Totally overlooked due to the debate. They should just release the Trump immunity one now while they're at it.

I think the reason Biden was so much stronger today than yesterday is because he's using a teleprompter. Where he struggles tremendously is when he has to speak without a script. He just completely loses it.
