Thickorita Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Wait, Kamala kinda bodied the interviews last night. I know Tulsi's somewhere in a right-wing podcast room fuming ย 2

Orsay Posted June 28 Posted June 28 O wow that clip of Biden today, like 10x the coherence and energy he had last nightย ย maybe 9pm was too late for the old man, he should have been in bed not debating with a demon 2 3

True, but not every voter are circle jerking on internet memesย ย The good thing for Biden it's happening now and he's really have a lot of time to recover till September. Anyway it's not only his fault but a fail of his entire team that didn't prepare him properly for such event... Back in a time, Reagan was also labeled as too old man for an office with Alzheimer and early stage of dementia and look how he crushed every Debates with jokes that basically gain him an ultimate landslide support. This is basically what Biden badly needed during this Debates, especially at the beginningย

Voters in 2020:ย *elect Democrats to majorities in the House, Senate, and win the White House for Joe Biden* 2022: *Roe v. Wade gets overturned* 2024: "You all have to vote Blue no matterโ" ย Democrats have to do a bit more to convince people they'll do anything on these basic issues. The most compelling argument is preventing Trump from getting more SC picks. But, Democrats need to do more and actually lay out plans rather than just nonstop complaining about not having enough votes in the House and Senate. The reason why Roe v. Wade got overturned has nothing to do with Biden or the Democrats. Trump electing as many justices as he did during his term did irreperable damage to our country and he only scratched the surface of the Republican's long-term goals.ย

VOSS Posted June 28 Posted June 28 SCOTUS really lucked out with the timing of their decisions. Totally overlooked due to the debate. They should just release the Trump immunity one now while they're at it. 1
XVIIII Posted June 28 Posted June 28 I think the reason Biden was so much stronger today than yesterday is because he's using a teleprompter. Where he struggles tremendously is when he has to speak without a script. He just completely loses it.
ClashAndBurn Posted June 28 Posted June 28 The most believable part of this that I would take at face value is Kamala being furious, butโฆ thoughts on the reliability of this anecdote about Obama/Klain and the fundraiser neighbor? @Espresso

Trump electing as many justices as he did during his term did irreperable damage to our country and he only scratched the surface of the Republican's long-term goals.ย But it happened when Dems had both branches of Congress + the Presidency and they didn't restore it at all. The Democratic-majority Senate could've killed the filibuster in order to codify Roe (and birth control, trans rights, ect.) but they didn't because apparently upholding Senate protocol is more important than half the country losing their reproductive rights. The argument that they're keeping it in place so that Republicans don't kill it when they have the chance doesn't hold water when Repubs are going to kill it the second they have the chance, especially to do something like passing a federal abortion ban.ย ย The point is Democrats can't keep campaigning on stuff like protecting abortion rights and then go on to do nothing when abortion rights get taken away. They have to actually fight to protect them, even if that being breaking various "traditions" (which are really just peer pressure from dead people).ย 2 6
