It made the issue more prominent and you cannot out-right Donald Trump on the issue of immigration. Biden's best bet would have been to deny it was a real issue and to redirect to other economic issues as the real root causes of the people's strife. But, nope, him and his administration had to be clowns and move to the right on an issue they cannot win. This is pitiful. Oh well. Next four years are gonna be rough. And, before anyone tries it, do not say I'm "pro-Trump" for calling out Biden. I've been saying we needed another candidate to avoid this exact issue and to stop Trump from getting elected. But, now this is the bed we're in. 1 2

The winner is mostly decided on perceived competence. Trump loses when his opponent seems more competent. Hillary crushed him in all three debates.
