Nina Turner's (mis-)interpretation is also intellectually dishonest, and I'm not going to defend her for that, just like I didn't defend her decision to primary Shontel Brown for a second round that she was destined to lose.

Virginians voting for this man because of some stupid ass reason. I am sorry but the American electorate is truly brainless.

Hmm.

Americans VOTE for Donald Trump and Republicans

Donald Trump and Republicans VOTE for conservative Justices

Conservative Justices VOTE to overturn Roe

Dunno. Voting kind of sounds like the preeminent power structure of this democratic country to me. :chick2:

The liberal/left-wing equivalent of thoughts & prayers is definitely protesting and hollow SJW tweets.

Donald Trump lost the Popular vote 2X

The Senate and Congress districts are skewed towards Republicans

A very bad example of a Democracy

Which is a boon tbh. Even if this particular tweet is misinterpreted, no one would be confusing it if the sentiment werenโ€™t already very real. Everyone knows they want to use federalism to create pockets of white Christian hegemonic rule in key states as the countryโ€™s demographics start to shift.

It would be political malpractice NOT to push this point. Itโ€™s so potent in fact, it even worked on Diamond and Silk.

Donโ€™t know why that other user is carrying water for Republicans. Especially considering they just shamelessly posted complete misinformation about why Dems were singing at that press conference.

Sure. Good democracy. Bad democracy. Whatever.

Votes are still the predominant vehicle used to imbue powers onto individuals or institutions.

Votes are how Trump got us here.
Votes are how Newsome, after winning his recall, is able to use California as a safe haven state.

Votes are how Youngkin is mobilizing against abortion in Virginia, after votes had previously upheld abortion via Ralph Northam.
Votes are how Stacey Abrams is going to keep Georgia from rolling back into the pre-segregation, forced-birth southern hell hole

Voting has and will always be the answer. And maybe we werenโ€™t able to save Roe THIS time due to *insufficient* votes. But future voting is what will prevent the federal laws that make getting an abortion a capital crime. Or the ones that criminalize smuggling women out of the country.

Denying the far-reaching impacts of voting doesnโ€™t make you cool, fly, sexy, hot, or beautiful. And if somebody (probably leftists) told you that, then they lied to you several times. Because itโ€™s nothing of the sort.

Maybe Dems shouldn't be so tone-deaf as to sing gleefully about God blessing America over a gun bill that will do close to nothing on the very day that women are losing healthcare rights. :gaycat6:

Yes, Dems should not highlight any legislative achievements. Brilliant. Justice Dems could use a campaign manager with your political acumen. :cm:

Anyway, before I go out to Pride to celebrate whatever little rights I have left in Texas, hereโ€™s a political cheat sheet for the uninitiated:

Things that work in American politics

  • Propaganda
  • Voting
  • Flush, filibuster-proof supermajorities in Congress

Things that donโ€™t work in American politics

  • Twitter activism
  • Third party runs
  • Sending knee-capped, skeleton crews to Congress and hoping for miracles

If anyone tells you otherwise, theyโ€™re either naive or its coming from the biggest losers in politics (i.e. AOC, Justice Dems, and their ilk). :chick1:

Last year. When is the pro-choice majority Senate going to pass it? Have they scheduled a vote?

This is what leftist say they want right? To hold litmus votes that puts everyone on the record? Show the American people who opposes their rights?

So without voting in more Democrat Senators, wtf is the end game? More failed votes? Cause it's working so well you, someone who follows politics more than the average person, didn't even know these votes had occured.

The biggest loser in politics is still Hillary Clinton, who sacrificed three Supreme Court nominations in an ill-advised attempt to satisfy her deep hunger for the Presidency! That is, of course, until Biden or Harris in 2024, with the way things are currently going.

You realize this is the last time the democrats will have a governing majority for a long long time, yes?

The House is lost, potentially for good, due to redistricting in addition to the fact that people are viscerally mad at Democrats now over gas prices and inflation.

The Senate has no path to a 60 vote majority for democrats thanks to NAFTA support losing them the white working class forever, taking states like Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, and Arkansas off the table. Negating Manchin and Sinema wonโ€™t be enough because there will always be just enough conservadems to block any sort of filibuster reform.

What they can achieve had to be done now. There are no second chances. Especially not next year.

oh and by the way, Biden is toast in 2025. Trump or DeSantis, doesnโ€™t matter. Either of them will clean up due to how badly Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer have failed.
