I'm watching the ABC special on the Capitol attack and the footage we're seeing has angered me all over again. They're even sharing footage that was never released to the public. And the complete lack of urgency from so many within his administration is JARRING. It's even more frustrating because Trump, or his family, won't face any real consequences for it.

What’s more frustrating is that Trump could be back in the White House not too long from now. All he needs is for Saudi Arabia to bump up the national average gas price to over $6 a gallon and he’d win the popular vote in a landslide. Especially with how badly Biden has failed at governing so far…

I'm trying to avoid watching it because I know nothing is going to come of it. (I'll watch a supercut of it tomorrow though.) It's just impossible to feel like this is just political theater for the midterms, even when it's a serious issue that should result in serious legal consequences. But our system just doesn't like punishing people in power.

The Democrats in the White House are the ones who truly don’t comprehend the moment we are living in and will be living in in just 7 months from now. This Jan. 6 committee nonsense won’t even realistically make a ripple, and it will end the moment McCarthy becomes Speaker. But yes. Let’s honor Nancy Reagan for Pride Month.

And yet, it’s progressives (who have the most to lose and will be most likely to be killed by Republicans) who are “cheering for the death of the Democratic Party”? Give me a break with that absolute malarkey.

They're lifting the virus testing mandate on Sunday for international travelers (Americans included) to produce a negative covid test prior to flying. Not sure how I feel about this, especially since wearing a mask is no longer required at airports, even on the flights itself. Seems way too early to lift that mandate. Which expires on Sunday. And though it is a factor, I'm not the least bit concerned about monkeypox. Which isn't going to turn into its own pandemic, any way.

That unhelpful inflation deflection speech was another rambling, lie-ridden disaster.

I really could go on a whole tangent, but there really needs to be a cap put on rent.

Caruso massively under-performed more than it initially looked; what looked like a 5~ point win over Karen Bass has now closed down to just 1 point of a difference.

In terms of money spent:

What looked like $150 spent per vote by Caruso is looking close to $187 spent per vote received.

For comparison, by the same measurement, Bass is looking to have spent only $14 per vote received.

The number of times I’ve seen Libs scream about price controls being bad and “what we need is more housing!” when NIMBYs have made this impossible virtually everywhere except for Minneapolis :skull:

The fact that I don’t even care for his takes usually, but liberals are screaming at his (correct) analysis that Bennie Thompson completely dropped the ball with his droning monologue that likely bored casual listeners to tears and drove them to tune out during the first half hour :rip:

The way they label everything racism if it’s not glowing praise or reverence whenever an establishment black person (cause they don’t give a single **** if you are black and even remotely to the left of Maxine Waters) is involved. :skull: The fact that they argue that everything political has to be boring and non-sensationalized when that’s the exact opposite of what you need to get people to care is just… :gaycat6:

Maybe Dems need to be more like Trump because Dr. Oz getting his ass beat with this "Dr. New Jersey" nickname has been the funniest (and seemingly effective) spat in Mid-Atlantic politics in ages? :deadbanana4:

Yeah, this is BS, just like Stephen Miller that spoiled the immigration talks.

Wake me up when something passes. Lucy and the football still works on way too many.

Biden's dumb ass on Kimmel. Just watched the interview and it was brutal. He still doesn't get it. :deadbanana4:

Why are they still trying it with this fake president of Venezuela crap with Guaido? Nothing about him is legitimate. :skull:

Like he doesn’t deserve to be assaulted or anything but damn. This insistence is embarrassing when they claim to care about sovereignty. :skull:

Moderate Republicans get political capital and Dems would get the blame as they always do for hypothetically not accepting crumbs if they said no. **** this country.

Apologies for the doom rant, don't read if you don't want that.

I increasingly think the United States is a failed state, and neofascist takeover is inevitable.

Wide swathes of electorate are radicalised by the Republican party and corporate democrats simply are not made to counter their narratives. Even 'moderate' republicans & independents have outrageous views on things like guns & abortion. It gets worse and worse especially with the global inflation crisis and Biden's failure to deliver even on his milquetoast promises.

Only a strong working class oriented vision with a charismatic (white male unfortunately) leader has any real hope of competing with a tucker carlson competent fascist, but that person does not exist. The left is tragically weak and cannot unite or build any kind of momentum. It's basically just going to be Biden sitting around doing jack **** until there is a massive red wave.

It's just so hopeless, and I genuinely am so sorry for all of you nice people (esp LGBT) that have to live in that country. Sending love

There's nothing "doom" about this post. This is absolutely what's going to happen (it's already happening). :rip:

Democrats really think these January 6 hearings are going to change the minds of voters and they'll all band around them to help save democracy. As if that's what voters care about at this point. protecting the system. :rip: Meanwhile gas prices and food prices are out of control. Even though voting either party won't change a damn thing in that regards, dems will still be punished because 1. they're in power and 2. they're incapable of addressing the deep rooted issues to solve these problems while republicans only have to go on about god and guns to keep their voters in line.

I know, but some people like to stay positive and I don't want to take that away from them :skull:

Bye at “Fan Fiction Left.” BIDEN is dampening voters’ enthusiasm by being impotent. The left is constantly told that it is insignificant and inconsequential, yet we’re so omnipotent that we are the ones turning elections in favor of Republicans??????

**** off, centrists. God I can’t ******* stand them :jonny:

So annoying. He is factually correct to point out that a big part of Biden's poor approval is a lot of democrats don't like him. But maybe he should think for one ******* secong that maybe it's because he's not ******* doing anything the base actually wants
