Does the California wildfire aid of that deal goย through FEMA ?

What happen with that aid when trump changed FEMA and made "The States Take Care Of Their Own Problems"?

I came across a very terrifying TikTok from a leftist alluding to a civil war and told us to learn how to hide our identity in public (with a full face mask) and how to fight. I don't expect that to happen but I feel a bit unsettled. It didn't help he used such a creepy audio. I don't think even half of Trump voters care about him enough to try murder off the other half of the country but the idea of it is terrifying especially living in a red state and seeing how quickly people fall for extremist propaganda. You'd never know it because they hide it so well until these topics arise.ย

1. It's totally possible to have a civil war. In my opinion, we're having a silent one right now (that we're currently losing)

ย

2. The Trump voters are actively already trying to murder half the country, just in more passive ways so they don't have any blood on their hands.

It's weird because I don't feel a "I told you so" type of way when it comes to anyone's lives and livelihoods but at the same time I'm completely devoid of any empathy for his voters who thought he would do anything for them. This doesn't go for the typical MAGAs who have genuine hate and bigotry in their hearts they can honestly go straight to hell.ย

ย

On another note I must say I really care about almost everyone in this thread (not the occasional MAGA trolls). That said please take this time to do whatever it is you need to do to feel safe in your communities. Go through the proper channels to legally own firearms, take self defense classes and stay informed without being inundated.ย

Let's be real, most of his voters will either never directly experience the harm he's causing within his term or they'll experience the harm but will never attribute it to him.

ย

It's so humiliating remembering that all we're asking is for basic empathy when my co-workers and family members won't shut up about the stock market and how much money they're gonna make these next four years. Shows just how different the stakes are for us. I almost respect the outright bigots more. At least they have principles that they fight for, even if it is at the expense of our rights. Whereas many other people will treat us with kindness in person and still happily vote for the fascist forces who want to exterminate us as long as they think they'll pad their pocketbooks. If your values can be bought, they're not really values. And maybe I'd be more understanding if these people were struggling to make ends meet and desperate for change, but let's be ******* for real. That is not the case for most of these people. :rip:

I don't think JD and Trump actually talk all that much. When JD talked about J6, it was clear to me that he didn't want to pardon any of them. Then Trump went ahead and pardoned all of them. I personally believe that JD will somehow have Trump taken out and then make himself president, which will cause a whole new set of issues.

I'm sorry but why in the hell are Democrats parading around and doing press conferences and wasting their breath on the house floor talking about the J6 people Trump pardoned. We know they're bad, and the whole situation is absolutely ridiculous, but let the Republicans dig their own graves over that situation instead of wasting poster boards and time.ย

Good early sign I guess but likely won't mean much after appeals :coffee2:ย

Right. They literally exclusively campaigned on Jan 6 at the cost of everything else and they lost horribly on that issue. The voters held a referendum on the insurrection and determined that it was an extremely unimportant issue to them. Which, duh, any absolute moron could have told you that. :psyduck:ย

ย

They should try to not lose so many Senate seats that they give Republicans a trifecta. I'm really not even sure that the House will be flipped due to how polarized the country is against Democrats right now. But a national abortion ban would very much be on the table and they would never have a path toward repealing it.

I found this an interesting read. They completely glaze over the Virgil Texas stuff of course (surprised he even got a passing mention), with only a vague mention of "tragedy" but still. Kind of illuminating how they see the current state of things.

Oh wow!!

NYT just did a story notification bulletin on Murkowski's no. They almost never do that for Senate votes by the way.

Fetterman is going to save him, I think. Even if Senator Babydog misses the vote.

She's the most reasonable Repub in office.ย

Though still unlikely, CNN's reporting JD Vance is being dispatched to the Capitol to break a tie for Hegseth.

The 180's been staggering to witness.

ย

What internals does his team see that I'm missing here?

ย

Is he truly gaining enough moderate and center right to make up for progressives that won't vote for him anymore?

ย

Is this really just all down to Casey's loss?

ย

Good luck in the primary.

Fetterman is the single biggest disappointment in the past 10 years imo, what a ****ing joke

While I agree with you, there's a ton culturally to unpack with his flip.

ย

Or this is who he always was and lied.
