Since he refuses to do another debate she should challenge him to a live cognitive test on stage for millions of Americans to see lol

What would happen if we just ignored these people lol? I feel like half the battle is even acknowledging them and their ridiculous theories.

If Kamala had an ounce of morality, she'd use this recent attack on UN peacekeeping forces as an off-ramp to break with Biden's Gaza policy. But she doesn't, so she won't.

You mean Kamala saying the only thing she would change between her adminstration and Biden's would be putting a Republican in her cabinet AND having a bipartisan council to run all policy proposals through while tripling down on support for Israel shows no morality?!?! I don't believe that!!!!

I still feel like this is where the EC will end after Election Day.ย

Kamala 271 - Trump 267ย

My prediction might change the closer we get but I've seen this scenario(or close to it) happening for a whileย ๐Ÿคท

One of the most bleak moments in that 60 Minutes segment about the election fraud conspiracies that followed Harris's interview was that one Arizona election official who talked about how he initially naively assumed that the people screaming about fraud were just decent confused people looking for an explanation and that the conspiracies would go away once he gave them an explanation. But then literally nothing changed despite all of his efforts to educate people on Arizona's election process, which finally made him realize that these people have zero interest in facts and any attempt to reason with them is a complete waste of time.

ย

So yeah, there really is no other course of action other than literally ignoring them. They're never going to accept an explanation because deep down most of them probably know they're peddling bullshit and only "believe" it because they're sore losers who have wrapped up too much of their identity into "owning the libs" and would have full mental breakdowns if they had to accept that the liberals "won" at anything.

:jonny: Yeah, it's all ego-based and not wanting to admit they've been conned by Donald all this time.

ย

I wish the media would work with America's best interest and ignore them but we know that's not happening.

Quote

The Gaza Bombshell

March 3, 2008

After failing to anticipate Hamas's victory over Fatah in the 2006 Palestinian election, the White House cooked up yet another scandalously covert and self-defeating Middle East debacle: part Iran-contra, part Bay of Pigs. With confidential documents, corroborated by outraged former and current U.S. officials, the author reveals how President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, and Deputy National-Security Adviser Elliott Abrams backed an armed force under Fatah strongman Muhammad Dahlan, touching off a bloody civil war in Gaza and leaving Hamas stronger than ever.

It didn't start on October 7th.

I don't know if they're so much tied to owning the libs....I just think they have a deep cult-like allegiance to Trump. They would turn on each-other if Trump told them to. Reminds me of the Pastor who told his congregants to eat grass, and they all did.ย

I think those two things kind of go hand in hand. What allowed Trump to gain his cult leader status is that he presented himself as a "winner" and "dominator" to all of these people who felt like they were being shamed and ostracized by the "elite liberals" in society because of their increasingly unpopular xenophobic and regressive views. His entire appeal has been that he "says the things other politicians are too afraid to say", which has always been code for "he gives me societal permission to vocally insult and attack all the elites who have tried to condemn my backwards thinking." Trump's entire decade in politics has been tied together by a theme of revenge - it's why his supporters not only aren't bothered when he repeatedly threatens to go after his political enemies, but activelyย enjoyย hearing that because theyย wantย him to "get revenge" on the liberal elites.

ย

So I guess it's a bit of a vicious loop at this point. Trump was able to build his cult allegiance because he basically campaigned on "owning the libs", and that led his supporters to be so undyingly loyal to him that their desire to "own the libs" has strengthened even further because they know it's what he wants as well.

Well their political identity is more like a religion (which is basically cult-like behavior already but that's for another discussion) than a deductively reasoned system of beliefs. You can't poke a hole in their worldview because then it all falls apart, so they get super defensive. They already have their conclusions and they try to work backward with their own alternative facts to reach those conclusions. So you can disprove any of those facts but they'll simply ignore that and look for new evidence. Most people like to think of themselves as "facts over feelings" but the truth is the vast majority of people are VERY feelings based and tribalistic. That's why attacking people's beliefs doesn't work; it feels like a personal attack and it's embarrassing to admit you might be wrong or were led astray. And also devastating to consider this whole project you've dedicated years to might be completely unfounded.

ย

After endless Covid arguments with conservative family members a few years ago, my approach changed completely. I no longer initiate any political discussion. When political discussion is brought to me, I no longer go on the offensive. No attacks, no judgment. All I do is ask questions that might cause them to reconsider their positions. Plant seeds. Make them feel like they're coming to new conclusions on their own when their current theories don't hold up to deeper scrutiny and thought. "Oh, so the two party system is just a sham, and the Democrats are coordinating with Wall Street and the Hollywood elites to stage a revolution. Why would Democrats need to win the election if they already control everything? Where do Republicans come into play here, are they in on it with the Democrats and if so would it even matter who wins?"

This new poll seems stable from this one though (still can't find the link for it so I can see the gender split)

Republicans have been angling this anti liberal slant since Nixon 1968 and what Trump has done basically is open the lid completely instead of dog whistling. Its the reason why the word "liberal" is a dirty word and it doesnt help that some liberals do confirm some of the exaggerated preconceived notions imposed by the GOP on its base.ย

ย

Taking out Trump would not change this completely. Its a complete overhaul of the belief system that has guided the GOP for years hence why its just pathetic to see the DNC parading these people as defenders of democracy when they were the same people that lead us to the current path today.ย
