Of course he would, but I don't think they'll actually ever try overturning it.  I actually think abortion is more controversial than marriage equality in the US, at least to Republicans and some Democrats.

The choice to "overturn it" doesn't really lie with Republican leadership. Mitch might think it's politically counter productive for Republicans to get into that argument, but his whole party is switching right on a number of issues and same sex marriage has made its way through a NUMBER of republican primaries all over the place and the "tamest" position that was defended by a few was the civil union case. Any religious firm could build a case on their own and put it in front of the "right" courts, like they did with Dobbs so that it makes its way quickly.

The problem is not whether or not Republican leadership will try, that's irrelevant. The point is whether or not those religious firms will find a case that can actually make its way, like :rip: Again, who's being affected by it?

"The United Democracy Project and another group, the Democratic Majority for Israel, spent more than $6.3 million to defeat Ms. Edwards, the first Black woman elected to the House from Maryland" ugh, TRASH. These corrupt Israeli assets keep putting America last.

"Progressive groups and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi backed Ms. Edwards" not Pelosi making the morally-correct decision for once, what?

Interested to see the numbers in the senate on that SSM bill :celestial5:Surely they'll at least get Collins & Murkowski

Pelosi backed Donna Edwards because Donna was a one time incumbent who only left the House to run for Senate. Her philosophy ain't that hard to hack: back your people.

Remember Pelosi is Italian (with potential mafia ties* ), so reciprocated loyalty goes a long way. :cm:

*Fun fact: JFK once directed the FBI to investigate Thomas D'Alesandro, Nancy's father. In addition to alleged mob ties, the report found that he had been involved with several communist groups in at least the 1940s. :fish1:

Wait till they realize this was the exact same strategy Hillary employed to elevate Donald Trump under the assumption that he would be easy to beat. :fan:

Honestly the Democrats NEED to be revolted against for being this reckless and running with the Pied Piper playbook again after it already failed spectacularly in 2016.

Portman from Ohio is co-sponsoring, he has a gay son. The rest I'm not sure honestly. Does anyone think there's a chance others will flip? Romney is a Mormon still. Toomey maybe because he's not MAGA'd and is retiring so he has nothing to lose.

They don't have 60 votes to beat a filibuster. So nothing's going to happen.

What’s frustrating about this is that there are legitimately a thousand ways the last administration abused government for their personal gain that would have been an administration-defining scandal in a Dem admin.

The standards for the GOP is in the gutter and the so-called liberal media (and leftists) are content to let them get away with it by overemphasizing Dems supposed “shortcomings”. :toofunny3:

The CIA deleted texts concurrent with their participation in an insurrection and yet… no wall-to-wall coverage compared to Hillary’s deleted Risotto recipes and wedding invites. :emofish:

And the CIA scandal or like Trump calling a Wisconsin official just now, over a year after the election, to request he overturn the results are the kind of conspiracies-come-to-life that you would expect the “drain the swamp” crowd to cling to. :rip:

Or like, where are the multitude of profiles on women facing abortion hardships in red states? Apart from the 10 year olds tragic story that the WAPO attempted to bury in innuendo of it being a hoax, CNN has only featured one other woman.

People (including pundits) are so ashamed to be unabashedly liberal and defend Democrats, even in the face of fascism, it’s sad.
