I updated the OP weeks ago to reflect I'd be doing things every few days and not every 24 hours, which is what you'd done with the Covid thread too.

The OP was actually recently updated but the thread here no one really posts on anymore but me.

The other thread became a massive fight between those US citizens against funding for the war and those from Ukraine and Eastern Europe which took all the oxygen out of the room :coffee2:

Don't take it the wrong way, I appreciate (and look forward ) to the posts you make, even in the other sections of ATRL. I am just lamenting that the thread (and the conflict) is getting less interest now. You spend more time updating the OP than what I do in the COVID thread, that is for sure.

I know that's what you meant. I suppose it was inevitable.

Putin will take advantage of there being less interest after the Republicans win the House and make funding harder. That being said, it's the center-left and center-right continuing that argument.

I'm conflicted as there seems to be no remotely simple off-ramp barring territorial concession for Zelensky which is a non-starter but I also totally agree with the money-pit argument while people here at home are struggling. At the same time I understand that no appeasement will ever satiate Putin, who does want to take over the whole country, which any good-faith argument can't claim otherwise.

This fall and winter is when Putin will tighten his stranglehold as he's still got plenty of supplies, weapons and men to force into reserves for cannon fodder. That's when the true test of this war will be seen.

The Opposition Party for Life is a pro-Russian political party and has earned strong support largely in Eastern Ukraine, where there are many Russian-speaking citizens.

As The National Interest reported, "The court’s ruling comes following a decision by the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, that all pro-Russian parties within Ukraine would be banned following the Russian invasion on February 24."

In May, President Zelensky signed into law a measure that bans pro-Russian political parties. In addition to the Opposition Party for Life, Zelensky banned 10 other political parties, including the Justice and Development Party, the Union of Left Forces, and the Party of Shariy.
