I’m gonna take that this is a Bad thing. If it is it still doesn’t change the fact Russia is illegally invading a country and killing its people. Putin deserves death.

what Putin deserves is irrelevant, because it can't happen by our hands. The people of Russia would have to take the matters into their own, but he's insulated himself from accountability. Short of a full invasion of Russia, which would lead to nuclear conflict, none of Ukraine's demands for  ICC justice and war tribunals for Putin have any reasonable expectation of being met.

• Ukrainian Nazi insinuation on the previous page: ✔️

• Justification for why Russia shouldn’t be stopped: ✔️

• Putting the impetus on Ukraine ending a war Russia started: ✔️

Nearly a year and a half into the war, and you’re still shilling for Russia. Never change :toofunny2:

I said nothing about why Ukraine should or shouldn't stop their war. I'm saying why the US can't get involved in bringing about the death of Putin that GhostBox feels he deserves. If you're blind to the fact that nuclear holocaust would be an immediate response to the West escalating their involvement, or if you're okay with all life on earth ending as we know it, then that's on you.

To assert that certain individual Ukrainians' flirtation with Nazism exists isn't merely an insinuation. Poroshenko was literally wearing the Sonnenrad on his shoulder. The fact that you're so defensive over prevalent Nazi imagery being sported by your country's politicians and military is very telling about you. :ahh:

So are you parroting pro-Russian talking points because you fear nuclear apocalypse or because Ukraine "has Nazis", meaning that what Russia is doing is justified? Which one is that?

So you're denying that the symbol Ukrainian politicians and military personnel are proudly sporting is widely known to be a Nazi symbol, then?

Nor did I say Russia's invasion was justified. But Ukraine obviously has a problem with Nazis that seems to lead them to, instead of rejecting their symbolism, embracing them as brothers in arms. This extends, of course, all the way back to WWII when Ukrainians hoped to collaborate with Nazis in order to be liberated from the Soviet Union, and collaborators like Bandera being venerated as national heroes to this very day.

I'm not denying that Ukraine has Nazis, however for me it's clear that talking about Nazism in Ukraine is parrotting a pro-Russian talking point that ultimately benefits Russia, an actual fascist entity that wants to commit genocide of Ukranians - something that not only both Putin and Russian media have been open about since day one (1 2) but also something that USSR, Russia's predecessor, has committed a century ago (Holodomor). As such, I can't help but wonder: why do you need to bring it up knowing that Putin uses it as a justification to his aggression? What kind of meaning does your message hold beyond "Ukraine has nazis" in a context of an invasion whose claimed objective is to resolve this problem you seem so deeply concerned about? If you really want to make this about Nazism, why aren't you bringing up, for exaple, people like Utkin or Milchakov from Russian side?

Russia is over soon. Once the Ukrainian army breaks through til Tokmak they are done in the south and will fall like dominos. Ukraine is also making progress around Bachmut, so it's only a matter of time to get the city back under their control.

It is true that whatever issues Ukraine has with Nazis or anything else should not be relevant when it comes to supporting them against this heinous and illegal invasion from a hostile neighbor.

It is also true that America shouldn't be stepping into this much more than we have already. Putin does deserve death but ultimately not from us. Not because of the risk of a nuclear war (I don't personally believe that that's an actual scenario that's on the table and any suggestion otherwise is rooted in fear mongering more than anything), but rather because history has shown a very poor track record from America when it comes to intervening in other nations' conflicts and trying to clean it up. Not to say this time can't be different, but I don't see it as likely.

I truly don't believe we'd be of any use beyond supporting them with aid both financially and with weapons like we are now. It's the kind of proxy war effort that we can actually be of some consistent, long lasting service in. Anything further and I truly believe we'd make it worse not better.

Poland is in their madness weeks before their elections.

Especially because their ruling party has made hardline anti-immigration their brand while they sold hundred-thousands of working visas to anyone wanting to buy their way into Poland.

Anti-immigration Polish government engulfed by cash-for-visas scandal as crucial election looms

Poland's ruling party has put hardline opposition to immigration at the centre of its brand – but it now turns out a top official may have corruptly facilitated hundreds of thousands of visa applications from Asia and Africa.

The stridently anti-immigration Polish government has come under fire for allegations of granting hundreds of thousands of working visas in exchange for bribes.

With less than a month to go to crucial parliamentary elections that could see the populist ruling party PiS ejected from power, Poland's anti-corruption body has launched a probe into the affair.

The still-developing scandal began at the end of August when the country's foreign ministry was searched by the local anti-corruption body. Soon afterward, Deputy Foreign Minister Piotr Wawrzyk was fired for not collaborating with the investigation.

Wawrzyk was officially forced out of his job for "lack of sufficient co-operation" with the investigation, but it is now being reported in Polish media that he is suspected of helping to create the scheme and pressuring consuls to issue visas to people of his choosing.

Last week, he was reportedly hospitalised with life-threatening injuries after an apparent suicide attempt.

It soon emerged that under a cash-for-visa scheme, would-be immigrants in a developing African nation were able to "buy stamped visas" from intermediaries by simply making a cash payment and "writing a name".

In other developing countries, a €4,500 payment was enough to secure a visa from a Polish consulate via an intermediary company.

Among the Polish consulates now being investigated are outposts in countries from Taiwan and the Philippines to Tanzania and Nigeria.

Polish outlet Onet, which has exposed much of the scandal, reported that last year, a group of applicants from India posing as Bollywood filmmakers were granted work visas in connection with a non-existent movie project titled "Asati". Later, another, larger group were granted visas via the same route on the basis they were making a film named "Milton in Malta".

So the rest of the world can better ignore the Polish officials gone mad and throw all the distractions they could find at the wall.

We were celebrating Russia starting to retreat from Ukraine in September 2022 and yet we're one year later now and the map is almost the same.

Why is life so bad? :monkey:
