It starts with good premises, it gives very 'the White Lotus' vibes initially with a mystery to solve, then the show gets lost with inserting 'alternative dimension' kind of direction that is not execute properly with the show becoming messy and very uninteresting, I really struggled to finish it, finale rushed and underwhelming as well. Misogynistic crap that might as well be porn with the amount of female nudity, sex scenes and women getting raped. The plot if just horrible, people pretend like the first 4 seasons were a masterpiece, but there's no story at all. Just some ugly men traveling around, talking about wars and raping women. Nothing ever actually happens. Plots like Arya traveling home, Sansa being held hostage at King's Landing, Daenerys freeing cities, Tyrion, Joffrey, Theon etc. being rapists, pedos and sexual predators, Bran looking for some bird, Theon getting tortured etc. all span across 200 episodes without anything of value ever happening and when it finally gets resolved it ends up being underwhelming as hell. Every once in a while they'll kill off one of the main characters and then they expect you to be shocked, but there are about 50 main characters so who cares if you lose a few? Almost none of them are interesting enough to care for and their scenes of death are always pathetic. I do stan Cersei and Daenerys tho, but the way they just had to get both of them raped and that they barely get to do anything with their power...whew, let me not. The Next Day Posted December 9, 2022 Share Posted December 9, 2022 The Patient is probably my favourite show this year. I expected a sort of crime thriller, but it's more of a psychological drama. It's brutal, frustrating as hell and you need to be ready for some daring moves on the writer's side. Don't watch this for realism or viewer-satisfying storylines. What you need is a lot of empathy, not necessarily understanding, but the will to get into the perspective of the two main characters. Domnhall Gleeson and Steve Carell make this an easy task, their performances are nothing short of excellent. It's rare that I feel the need to scream at my screen, but both of their characters feel so real that you can't help but feel trapped in the room with Alan.
