A Thousand and One - 7.5/10

Not a fan of slow burner dramas but this one kept my attention throughout. And that plot twist... jfc :rip:

I watched two Anya Taylor-Joy movies :chick1:

Last Night In Soho - 13/10

A fantastic movie, genuinely one of my favorite movies ever. The writing, the fashion, the choreography...insane.

The Menu - 13/10

Another amazing movie, I genuinely love how deep the movie is and the main character's backstory and mindset.

Strange World (2022) - 5/10

The pacing was kinda bad, like they'd tell a (bad) joke and then immediately cut to the next scene without letting it breathe at all — really awkward directing imo, but the last 30 minutes were great lol. I loved the twist and the moral at the end.

Rope (1948) - 8/10

I need to watch more Alfred Hitchcock movies! Now I've seen this one and Psycho. I love plays though, so I can see how this movie could be boring for some since the whole movie basically takes place in one room lol. I loved the humor and the tension.

Cherry Girl (2006) - 4/10

Short little album promo movie — I'm glad I watched it, and Kumi's album worked great as the soundtrack, but it was kinda whatever nn. Probably won't watch it again. 😬

Rear Window (1954) - 5/10

It's funny... I just watched Hitchcock's Rope and I thought it was very entertaining despite the whole movie taking place essentially in one room, but the singular room was what bored me about Rear Window. I can appreciate the vision, the set design, the sound design, etc., of this movie, but it was just not my thing and I don't think I'd watch it again.

Sidenote: Grace Kelly! :storm:Talk about a silver screen siren! I was shocked to learn just how beautiful she really was. She is like a painting in this movie.

Spoiler

I agree with a lot of the negative reviews online saying that the first ~80 minutes are very boring and only the last ~20 were entertaining. I also thought the scene where the killer keeps approaching Jeff slowly and never thinks to shield his eyes from the camera flash after the first time was stupid and unbelievable :skull:

Vertigo (1958) - 9/10

Now we're talking! I didn't know quite what to expect from just the title and the poster. I loved the story, the acting, the colors, and just about everything in this movie! I think it was maybe a little drawn out and could have been more succinct, but that's ok.

Spoiler

Also, I wish they hadn't had Judy spoil the logistics of Madeleine's murder before John figured them out for himself. I think it would have been more effective to have the very obvious clue of Carlotta's necklace tip the audience off, then have it confirmed when John explains his suspicion to Judy and she confesses that he's correct. It disappointed me to think about this while I was watching the spoiled ending play itself out, but luckily there was still one more surprise at the end! :gaycat2:

Both of these movies are legendary, and not just because of Bad Romance. I didn't watch Psycho to complete the Bad Romance trio because I already watched it years and years ago, but maybe it's time for a rewatch. :gaycat2:

The new Alien movie was amazing. Very surprised of how actually good it was.

I rewatched TITANIC. And it's still just as good. My fav of all time still.

Watched RUN and it was such a great thriller movie.

Hot Fuzz, offensively mid. I didn't laugh once and story was boring. I should've just rewatched one of the Jump Street movies.

Trap 4/10: first half is fine, the rest was absolutely horrendous

Saltburn 6/10: don't understand what all the fuzz was about, stellar performances but the movie itself is meh, boring almost. they just put in some shock scenes
