I'm someone that never understands the charm of old movies, but OMG I was hooked from the first scene. It's such an adult fairytale. I loved it. Just watched it again this weekend; I can probably quote the entire script by now. It never fails to put me in a better mood.
Suilen Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Watched Aly & AJ's movie Weepah Way for Now, it was a bit too quirky for me, though the scene where they were freaking out over a *** stain on the floor was iconic.

Have you seen the deleted scenes on Youtube? Also someone said Julia was supposed to be a drug addict, but it was too intense so it was cut. Hence she couldn't stop wiggling her fingers.
DammnBaby Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Watched Network (1976), which is in my top 10 of all time. It correctly (and cynically) predicts the rise of Fox News and the conversion of the democratic system into political theatre and entertainment. Truly some of the greatest acting of all time. 1
LadyDiana Posted February 25 Posted February 25 All of Us Strangers 5/5 It's just great. Sad. Inspiring. Plot twist is heartbreaking. Just go and watch it!!!

SpaceOddity Posted February 29 Posted February 29 After years of not being able to finish a single one, I've fallen back in love with film watching and going to the movies. These are from just this month: Poor Things: 8/10 The Holdovers: 10/10 Anyone But You: 5/10 All Of Us Strangers: 6/10 Babylon: 10/10 Adaptation: 8/10 I, Tonya: 8/10 Rye Lane: 7/10 Tick Tick Boom: 8/10 Past Lives: 5/10 Happiness: 7/10 Aftersun: 8/10 I Want You Back: 4/10 Talk To Me: 9/10 Nope: 7/10 I'm seeing Passages at the movies later!
EdgeofTeeth Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Knocked Up (6.5/10) Fargo (8/10) All of Us Strangers (10/10) One of the most profoundly empathetic and affecting things I have ever watched. Goes beyond logic and reason in favor of a metaphysical and viscerally emotional experience that captures familial trauma, its resulting alienation, and the power of genuine human connection in a way I've rarely seen before, if ever. Every now and then a piece of art comes along that feels like it was tailor-made for you because of its remarkable ability to articulate the conflicts and feelings that bubble under the surface just deep enough to escape concrete explanation or reason. This film manages to identify them, grab them with both hands, and yank them straight to the surface. A masterpiece.
lavenderblo Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Blackberry 8/10. I've been meaning to watch it and I'm glad it finally came out on Hulu. You can definitely tell that it was heavily influenced by The Social Network, but it never felt like it was copying it. I really didn't expect to enjoy a movie about the blackberry phone so much
Sbbmsve Posted March 2 Posted March 2 The Zone of Interest, loved it a lot. I hope the soundtrack by Mica Levi gets released soon.
Johnny Jacobs Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Poor Things. I get it but i don't get it. I've come to a conclusion that artsy movies are not my thang
