Quote Madonna and Warner Music Group have announced a career-spanning partnership that will see a "multi-year catalog series" to launch next year which also happens to be the 40th anniversary of Madonna's first single, 'Everybody'. The deal encompasses Madonna's entire Sire/Maverick/Warner catalog and also includes her three most recent studio albums, MDNA, Rebel Heart, and Madame X, which will join the Warner catalog in 2025. All in all, the newly inked agreement includes 17 studio albums plus singles, soundtrack recordings, live albums, and compilations. Of most interest to SDE readers is the fact that Madonna will "personally curate" (cue slight concern) expansive deluxe editions for many of her albums, as well as "introduce unique releases for special events" (e.g. Record Store Day) and more. These series of releases will be overseen by Warner Music's catalog team, led by Kevin Gore, President of Global Catalog, Recorded Music, with the first release to be announced soon. Madonna is one of a handful of major recording artists who has so far shunned physical expanded deluxe reissues, but all that is now set to change thanks to this new agreement. I don't know, reading this news from the initial announcement, nothing about this says "we will put everything into boring silver and job done."
MilanY Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Warner did good job with 2 Cher albums, we got boxsets and double cds.

Because Cher actually embraces her catalog and listens to her fans. Madonna is polar opposite. She probably released Finally Enough Love thinking that will be enough to satisfy us for the delay/cancelation of her reissues. She's so out of touch. 4

It's been 3 years since then and they missed so many landmarks including the most important one, 4 decades of her debut album and NOTHING happened. Knowing her team, they think they are already giving us too much with digital uploads of singles, you know, something that most artists did back in 2005 when itunes became a thing. You forgot 3d inlays of album covers, they consider that celebration of anniversary too! 1 1

You forgot 3d inlays of album covers, they consider that celebration of anniversary too! True, I forgot about those for 40 dollars.. without record included. LOL. I wonder if they're going to start that from 2025, from 2025 Warner will own distributing rights for the last three albums too, so maybe... one can hope. It's funny, like for example, that release of Rebel Heart Tour was nice and completely unexpected and the release of Madame X tour even got limited Picture Disc treatment. Then Finally Enough Love was promising - few fun versions two 6LP boxes (rainbow and red/black). Like it's funny how they did this, which is pretty cool, but then they do some grey vinyls, call it silver (like be for real) and throw "edition" after it as well. They knew Deadpool was coming, this LP was planned a while in advance, and yet a grey wax is all we getting but to make it look exclusive is a stupid poster... lol. Truly who cares about a poster in 2024? I'm not expecting 3LP versions and deluxe tracks and demos and unreleased songs, but I was at least hoping for deluxe looking packaging, maybe some new photos from each era... just something special. This is not how the Queen of Pop should be releasing her discography on a format that is selling very well nowadays. 1

Well I disagree, I thought those 3 releases were really useless, waste of time and money. No one needs live album by Madonna, especially on Vinyl. And less said about that remix compilation the better. O don't even want demos, unreleased songs and stuff, she's not the type of artist who records a lot of songs, so songs that are left out are mostly not good at all. I just wanted properly remastered first 5 ,6 albums, and we're never gonna get them. 1

Imagine Like a Prayer now being released on 3LP Picture Disc, or 3LP boxset! Who is going to listen to Madame X tour on record?

geddymonster Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 I think the biggest crime with the LAP vinyl is how washed out the cover is. 1 1

makeawish Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 i mean, my basic assumption is that it's probably the record, esp if it's from a few years back. pop albums are not always given the care that they should be ime
