It was a surprise set, they happen all the time at Coachella. 88rising’s set got the same massive bold font as the headliners because HITC is a major festival in its own right.

 

They chose aespa to be the headliner for their set on Coachella’s main stage. Period.

You’re a moron if you think the HITC sets weren’t done in collaboration with Coachella’s organizers. They aren’t giving away an hour on the hottest stage in music with no oversight. Seethe and cope I guess.

I hated that one. I Hate every concert thats not live for example I'm not excited for SM Concert tomorrow at all even when it's free  when it's a tv special I can accept it but a concert itself please no

Coachella decided the best thing to do on their main stage before headliners started coming out, was to do a mini HITC. 88rising needed a major name to anchor each week’s set and justify their placement, not just on the stage, but right before flume, meg, and billie. aespa was specifically selected to prop up their set and to go on right before festival circuit legends.

 

Coachella releases set times and stages each week right before the festival, if they thought aespa wasn’t worthy of that spot, they could have easily been downgraded to a less prestigious stage or set time.

The thing is Spotify isn’t that huge yet for these groups that it’s making a massive difference when they’re all pulling 1M+ with every physical.

I never said they were bigger “overall” yet you’re continuing with this cumulative numbers argument  Just compare their latest title tracks on the Korean charts and you’ll get the point I was trying to make. 

anyway, the misunderstanding aside, I think we’re on the same page here.

So aespa was a fraud invite but black pink who also didn’t have a hit single in the US or album out and also had the added angle of epik high being booked previous and Big Bang somehow agreeing to reunite the year after at Coachella was actually invited for their own merits? Their set was part of bargaining to get an actually established at the time group at the festival

Well..they were actually charting on BB two years after their debut, back to back hits in Korea, a  smash b-side while is actually a HIT. They were already the most streamed gg in a Calendar year.
Jennie had a smash debut hit. Aespa hasn’t achieved half of it. Let’s be serious

 NJ and Ive got more hits despite being younger.
