Moschino and so on could work better probably. She should be dressed in some quirky fits, not in Burberry. I find it unappealing after Tisci left :rip:

Yes, MHJ is the chasing them when NewJeans got over 100 love-calls from various brands after debut. They get sponsored items because these brands know Korea has all eyes on them. Just stay bitter as you already are tbh :laugh2:

You’re doing too much now. They’re nothing to be bitter about be fr  :biblio:

Wonder if blinks will be supportive towards this new group unlike onces with itzy lmaoooo never understood why onces hate itzy so much..

From what I witnessed during debut 90% of their fans were onces, then blinks token stanned them and used 'em to drag twice so onces quickly switched :santa:also the fact their music quality was so inconsistent, after wonder girls-miss a-twice and a really good debut song you would've expected something... yknow :emofish:

BTS’ solos kinda flopped when we think about it

BP members are definitely bigger than bts individually

and I would gladly eat it up if it’s good noise

Watch the good noise is about y2k hip hop/r&b music :lakitu:

Idk now I'm listening the 1st Gen Kpop songs and many are still pretty timeless and aged like fine wine so the labels and companies have a lot of good material to get inspire hop on the y2k trend.

it's tragic how they never really topped Dalla Dalla qualitea-wise. Wannabe is the better song but conceptually missing the mysterious cool girls image we got in Itzy debut :rip:

I don’t have any issues with my faves flopping/doing worse than before, BP did worse than IVE and NJ this year (in Korea) and I won’t make some delusional excuses or alter the numbers to suit my narrative  :rip: Eleven was released in December so majority of its points are counted in 2022, same for aespa’s DCT - to allude that aespa did better this year than NJ or even BP is delusional, that’s it - if you divide the points by era you will get clear results, aespa underperformed this year, both in Korea and ww - the only thing they have over NJ are sales, which is amazing and impressive too!  :cm:  IVE managed to catch up with AL and BP is out of the talk too in that department

it doesn’t mean they cannot bounce back next year and I will happily admit it if it happens!

Aespa had their biggest year in digitals, their biggest year in Spotify/YouTube streams and their biggest year in physicals (Girls was the #1 female physical ever until Born Pink, is still the #1 female mini album ever and still the #1 physical for fourth Gen GGs). Yes, Girls wasn’t a massive digital smash - but Aespa supplemented it with sustained catalog interest and the biggest fourth Gen B-side, Illusion.

And where do you get that I’m altering the numbers? I run a receipts thread, sis. I’m posting exact numbers and you can go ahead and double check them, if you want.

I think you girls need to let go of the idea that domestic digitals alone run everything. 600M digital points is equal to about 100M streams, the equivalent of about 67,000 albums. Now that girl groups are selling millions of albums, those digitals aren’t a massive deal just yet. Even with NewJeans’s record-breaking digital success, they still haven’t even hit 1.2M points (134k-ish album sales). That’s not to downplay them - just to show that domestic digitals don’t heavily outweigh physicals.

actual campaigns are more important

They’re both important. What these companies are doing is selling the rights for these luxury fashion brands to promote themselves using their idols. This is important because it means that the company no longer has to pay for some performance and red carpet outfits - a luxury fashion brand now takes all of that cost and in return, they get promotion because their work is showing up in media.

The campaign is more about the idol doing a photoshoot and being the overall global face, but that doesn’t make the ambassador programs less important. Did you see red carpet fashion back in Gen 2? It was :toofunny2:

oh okay i see it now

being an ambassador is more important for the company and a campaign is more about the idol and it’s own popularity I guess

now I see why yg had brands for the girls at debut he didn’t want to pay anything :lmao:

That’s the Circle (Gaon) yearly digital ranking after 52 weeks (this year has 53 weeks). The way you girls are so fixed on a narrative that you’ll claim someone is delusional for posting the Circle charts is laughable. And the fact that you had the nerve to insult my intelligence because an objective fact proved you wrong. You played yourself, babe :skull:

You know that GOT is short for Girls On Top and like the first iconic feminist anthem (and one of SM’s biggest hits), right? The name is probably one of their most brilliant, after Oh!GG :skull:

GOT is fine but girls on top the beat… idk

No :deadbanana2::deadbanana2: Baby Monster is just another name for Blackpink before the girls rejected it because it was corny like along with Magnum. It's basically just the duality concept but switched Baby Monster instead of Black Pink, sweet/cool. I do believe they will do rnb since watered down y2k is the vibe now, thank you NewJennies.

Check the nameplate.

I'm excited to see the old eldritch villain (YHS) struggle against the new sus machiavellian mastermind (MHJ) in January. Let's see if the old bog beast still has it in him, for girl groups at least, we saw the ordeal with Treasure already......  :gaycat4:

Also Lisa is apparently close with and mentoring the thai trainee, so we are excited for mother Lalisa's progeny.

:santa:

I know about that ofc, I was there since pre-debut (yeah, I followed the girls since 2012 :rip:) but a legit "insider" on twitter explained the concepts behind those names. Magnum being hiphop, PinkPunk about being experimental pop group or smthn, baby monster as explained previously. BP have undergone all those concepts predebut, they were basically like a test object for YG during their trainee days before he finally handed them to Teddy :deadbanana4:  and there's even this so called info about predebut BP which kinda confirmed the concept behind babymonster https://www.soompi.com/article/413754wpp/possible-information-revealed-regarding-ygs-new-girl-group

And in case you don't know, the 6 losers from Treasure were supposed to debut under the name ma6num :ahh: so I think YG's lazy ass just re-using those concepts for their trainees bc even those girls who participated in that chinese show that lisa was mentoring, they were also being introduced as baby monster
