when G-Dragon founds GD Entertainment and debuts his girl group that will be more sucessful than baby monsters

Sakura GIF

I bet GDE very likely a YG subsidiaries just like TBL given how loyal GD to the YGE.

OMG will get overshadowed at this point :rip:

I can see OMG skyrocketting to the top and them having 3 songs in top 5 :rip: OMG will supposedly be a bop like Hype Boy so they will have two smashes at once again (plus Hype Boy in top5 and Attention around top 10…. crazy :deadbanana4:)

The question for 2023 would be if Blackpink ever gonna renew their contract at YGE parent or sublabels like TBL.

The fake new jeans stans are giving YG stan vibes

see when you release quality :clap3: i hope OMG continues their streak, their release strategy is really smart since kpop is all about title tracks

don’t see what’s y2k about them tho other than some of the clothes/aesthetics? people love calling everything y2k these days and i think they just mean contemporary r&b influence :toofunny3:

NewJeans are truly smashing EVERYWHERE, both globally and domestically

Their Spotify numbers are kinda insane as well :deadbanana2:

We need to hide our faves immediately :psyduck:

Like I used to be torn between whether it was IVE or NewJeans who was bigger, but it looks like NewJeans is starting to distance themselves from IVE and starting to become the clear 4th gen leaders :sleigh:

They need a little break after this, i don't want them to get overexposed. :skull:

I’m sure they will attend all of those KCONs in the summer and maybe make a japanese debut so we won’t get as much content then

edit: also, IVE had 3 comebacks in a year and all were successful while the girls had solo gigs too, all year round - NJ will be good too, they need to solidify their status in Korea

it’s not good to have long breaks nowadays: see aespa or even stayc, they kinda got lost in the wave of new ggs

The real tea is that there is no "clear 4th gen leader" because just last year you all were saying aespa were the definitive #1 and now they're not even top5 according to some users here. Like what's gonna happen if NewJeans or IVE flop or underperform with their next comeback :rip:

For real:

People In 2019: « omg Itzy new NGG, 4th gen leader »

People In 2021: « omg Aespa new NGG, 4th gen leader »

People In 2022: « omg IVE/NJ new NGG, 4th gen leader »

I guess in 2023 it’s going to be:

« omg Baemon new NGG, 4th gen leader »  :rip:

Nah rookies need more exposure on their first few years to get more loyal and solid fanbase before they can afford to be kept on dungeon and having less comebacks.

Yeah we will never know the future for sure, but right now they are kinda stomping. It's kinda funny how people in here never mention (G)I-DLE in the discussion of 4th gen leaders when they have been doing just as well (if not better) than NewJeans, IVE & LE SSERAFIM this year + they also have an older catalog that starts from 2018 :coffee2:

I would say BP seem more business savvy than 2NE1 but we never know :deadbanana2:

we need jennie2 (jisoo if she’s ready) and an album next year

i can see yg using a blackpink comeback to debut Beamon

Twice is the perfect exemple of how this strategy doesn’t work in the long run. With too many cb the gp is not exited anymore. Thanks god IVE didn’t make a comeback in December :ace:!!

ofc they shouldn’t follow the BP strategy either. 2 comeback per year is enough.

Gd is too loyal to YGE. Also I thought that a lot of ex YGE staff were in TBL that’s why Taeyang signed there?

Anyways they really have a big management issues.

Only Kush and Teddy are fixed old staff, the rest come and go, and majority are new staff (post 2017) so I really don't know why will he stay there, he can still use them as producers but sign with other company that will do major stuff to promote you. Not underground label when you huge artist.

You spilled, cause this is where YG has failed with TREASURE. Like I will never understand why YG had them in the dungeon for the entirety of 2021, when they had just debuted in August 2020 :deadbanana2: This is why TREASURE are so behind, cause the other bgs were able to release music and secure their fandoms, while TREASURE was being in the dungeon for their entire rookie year (13 months) :rip:

YG is now trying to give them frequent comebacks, but it's kinda too late now.

"My Treasure" was released in January 2021

And their next comeback after "MY TREASURE" was "JIKJIN" which was released in February 2022 (13 MONTHS LATER) :rip:

Seems to be going the other way, with the brothers Yang now publicly operating the company and executives and staffers coming back to work for them again, especially after the problems Psy's company had coming out of the pandemic.  Heck, when Seungri gets out of jail in February, probably expect an announcement of OT5 Big Bang at Coachella.

:cm:

No way Seungri is returning in the industry. Just no way :deadbanana4:

Yang old staff is coming back? Interesting…

Who is the current ceo of YGE? That woman? But I read that she also have so problems with the justice too?

YGE is going to have an internal war then. And BP renewal or not is going to play a big role.

Maybe he doesn’t want to do promotions?

In 2019 they got only 2 cb. Fancy smashed FS not.  But M&M was their longest hiatus and would  have been a big hit if it was a great song.
RV had 3 cb in 2019, 3 flops in a row and then they cb with psycho.
As long you don’t pull 4 cb in a year it doesn’t affect a group. NJ is a new group they need to be everywhere.

Sheep, are we gonna fill the ktrl endlist with SM acts only? :oh:

Let's make Forever 1 the number #1 song :cm:

He can release he's music through any label without promoting if he want, no need to sign with underground label for that.

YG truly have bad history when it comes to these. This even happened back on Winner and iKon where they spend around 1 year on the dungeon during their rookie days :deadbanana2:

Let's talk about Treasure because their survival show was aired in November 2018 - January 2019 and they spend like over a year to debut the group. I mean YG have a bad year in 2019 but still they take this long to actually debut Treasure was not a good look.

NewJeans should wait until May or June for their next mini-album after this. They’re on the cusp of having the most successful first year ever in K-pop and they shouldn’t waste it. They have digitals in the bag and Spotify streams, too. But they need a second comeback to compete with IVE’s numbers.

New Jeans - 700k+

ELEVEN - 439,976

LOVE DIVE - 837,781

After LIKE - 1,627,404
