Girls era was still a huge underperformance especially when sheep proclaimed as the next top GG, 4th gen leaders or whatever. 
 

 

OO is bigger internationally than girls/illusion. 100M streams, did okay in japan. It just tanked in Korea. And tank has like 40M streams despite being a b-side.

the surprise release was cute but it deserved LTS promo run….one of the best k-pop songs ever

Every comeback people count Idle out and they keep growing and growing. After surviving Soojin-gate, it's pretty obvious that they are here to stay.

- TXT just had one comeback and a tour this year which made them less visible

- ENHYPEN never really had a "chokehold" let alone Treasure, but their fanbase grew a lot nonetheless

- aespa's comeback wasn't as successful and their power really fell off a bit with the new ggs. But I think the reason is music since they have a massive fanbase. if the next title track is better they'll be fine

I love Itzy but JYP does not seem to care much about promoting them. I guess they've done well enough on their tours? Idk. The YT performance of the song is quite good, too.

 

Cheshire is fun but still not up to their Dalla Dalla / Wannabe / Loco quality, and the time frame between their singles is weird. Doesn't help that MITM and Sneakers are just... not good songs. 

 

It's a shame because I honestly think they're the most talented of the current GGs in terms of dance abilities.

NMIXX is also N/A on Billboard 200 and many other global charts compared to aespa.

 

And as for physicals, aespa obliterated NMIXX with Girls sales, so let's not even go there. It's not just Melon, it's everywhere sweetie.

Yeah I hear a lot of people think that way. Probably because it was a huge image change, plus Yeri joining. It seems like it happened later than it did.

 

I remember the rumors of Yeri joining and seeing that leaked pic of her with the group on the MV set and thinking "woah??". Definitely a moment, but one of the few times SM was actually 100% right with the changes they made to the group.

on itzy: they have a lot of potential but they keep releasing sh¡t song after sh¡t song

 

nmixx: another wasted potential, all they need is listenable songs and they'd be a top group.. like literally no one cares about their silly mix pop concept, and i'm 100% sure they're gonna drop it when they realize it's not working
 

I've never seen a big 3 company mismanage their girl groups like this.. idk what happened to jyp, their ggs used to make hits even when the company was about to go bankrupt before twice saved them
