I disagree, I think its success has proven their longevity even more.

 

And it also shows that they can do something musically interesting and different whilst still being a hit on the charts.

Generally my view is that:

-Long-term success of KR tracks is driven more by stans than actual mainstream GP appeal. 

-If a JP track doesn't do well, it indicates to me that

1. K-pop stans prefer KR releases, after all its Korean music they want, right?
2. The GP isn't really interested either, hence not enough GP listeners to make up the reduced engagement from K-pop stans (Looking at that Billboard chart run... F&T and Better deserve BETTER)

-ENG tracks seem to be somewhere in the middle ground. The GP seems to be more receptive to it... I assume it's thanks to Disney lmao

 

So no hit JP(...or EN?) tracks = no interest from GP. Which is why I don't think you can really handwave underperforming JP tracks as a non-issue.

I'm gonna make the argument that karaoke rankings are much more indicative of GP impact (due to how widespread Karaoke is over there) than other platforms that tend to be more easily manipulated by companies and fans...

So going off of this, I think it's clear that Twice doesn't have quite the same pull on the JP GP as before.

Hmmm, I suppose you can see it that way too, personally it kinda just feels like let's say, an american artist trying to branch out in latin america with spanish songs, those spanish songs could underperform while still being relevant with the GP with their english stuff (since it's what made them relevant anw), it's just not what they're known for/what they're looking for in said artist so it's harder to score same level-sized hits, especially with not-so-good promo! 

Not saying they're as big now as the artists you listed before but they're definitely the powerhouse for ggs with the GP, like not even the 46 ggs who had a cute digital moment in 2017-ish? are scoring hits anymore, and niziu is fading even though they have a fanbase more willing to buy albums (for now)

Also the karaoke chart is a weird metric, in 2020's yearly chart Feel Special was in the 300s while in 2021 it went down to the 500s and in that monthly chart you shared its n/a, when its for now their 2nd biggest hit there which should definitely equate to impact especially cause the gap is rather big, while WIL? has been in constant rise since 2019, so I wouldn't say it's thaaaat reliable either, and the fact there's no Perfume at all when they kind of have the biggest girl group legacy... idk

Girl it has 37M streams after 2 months on Spotify. 
 

For comparison, LOVE DIVE has 45M and was released weeks after. 
 

The music video has 37M views after 2 months as well. It’s going to struggle / take over a year or years to surpass 100M on either platform. 
 

Big internationally

 

It was a cute hit on the K-charts and that’s all it served. It wasn’t a repeak by any means with GP. Maybe fanbase wise with the album sales
