How do people expect 4th gen boy groups to top Korean charts, when BTS themselves are underperforming as well. Korea is truly over boy groups omg :rip:

Like what do str8 Korean men even listen to anyways, since they are also part of the gp? I can't imagine them listening to all these girl groups as well? Like here in the West, you don't see str8 men really bopping to all these pop divas without people looking at them sideways and assuming their sexuality etc...

It's interesting if all these straight Korean men are bopping to songs like "Likey" and are able to bop to all these "girly" songs, without people looking at them sideways. This scenario with all these female acts smashing, would be impossible in the West, since the straight men are big part of the audience in the music market as well. But then aren't Korean women more into boy groups usually, or are they saying #WomenPower and ditching the boy groups as well?

@harrythevifan We need one of your analysis on this, King :cm:

True but A lot of Koreans man, especially the teens/uny students are more interested in K rappers/ urban artist.

Jay park, Zico, BEO, Big Naughty, Ash Island, Changmo all managed to score top 10 hits meanwhile BG struggled to chart lol.

Heck even Crush scored a top 5 hit this year!

Korean GP generally just not interested about Kpop after 2nd Gen

And yeah Korean men are more interested towards K-Hip Hop recently and this is why Show Me The Money was popular.

Looks like Bigbang is one of the only exception to the point VIPers are joking they're being a girl group now. Like literally they're the only BGs to achieve PAK this year and not to mention they being respected among the Khip-hop communities as well.

Let’s do a vocal ranking between SKZ and BTS members then :michael:

1. Jungkook

2. Seungmin

3. Bang Chan

4. Han

5. Lee Know

6. I.N

7. Changbin

8. V

9. Jin

10. Jimin

11. J-Hope

12. Hyunjin

13. Felix

14. Suga

15. RM

As you can see 6/8 of the SKZ members are better singers than any BTS member except for Jungkook. :cm:

Felix not being last invalidates this list, that boy have no vocal talent. Like not even a nice tone.

Big Bang, mostly. :cm:

I'll just confirm what's already been posted and say they'll listen to k-hiphop when they're angry and they'll listen to specific ballads when they're depressed and they'll turn to pretty girl groups when they want to escape the anger and the depression.

I think so, too. Even tho the experimental sound was the best part about them. But SM seems to see them as a cash cow and will milk them until the end with light version of their original content. Very sad tho.

I don't think that's a bad thing, their music is still very good and one thing is the experimentalism of RBB or ZZB and something very different is the uniqueness of tracks like ICC, DD or Rookie. Tracks which defined their sound and got their career to be successful. Even FMR isn't typical, the inclusion of the bach piece is very innovative specially since they didn't include just the main hook but other aspects of the musical piece throughout the track.

I'd rather have 50 NewJeans copycats than 50 BP copycats (which we already had)

but maybe it's just me  :cm:

we'll probably find out someday that LSM pushed the aespa full album back because he delusionally still thinks the girls have a chance in the US and he didn't want them to "have to compete with Taylor" :bibliahh:

I was thinking about how fast the k-pop community and fans moves on to a new gen

but it's really the companies that stop putting effort in 3rd gen groups for no reason

like the way YG did such an awful job handling the biggest GG in the world's comeback is kinda crazy

I mean they did well, broke records and had some cool moments but it feels rushed and cheap too

and then they want fans to get excited for their new group? it's just so odd

I hate that about kpop

It’s the first time that the 4th gen really took over. The 3rd gen lasted almost 10 years lol, so I don’t agree that fans moved fast. Globally the 3rd gen is still leading. Only IVE and Stray kids are performing well on the global plateforms

One group will not a cb for a year and then we will see 9 groups smashing. :rip:

AAA’s album is good. Wow.

Also this group has been prepared since 2019 before NJ. Let’s stop. :gaycat7: It’s not like the BIG4 steal ideas from the nugu groups.

Because of that short Antifragile tease at the end of Fearless I wonder if just concept was ready then, or if Garam had also taken part in recording that song too

I know but it's like a plotted thing

companies suddenly start caring less for their older groups outta nowhere even when they still haven't even peaked yet

just to invest in the new ones

like why doesn't RV get a tour or a BIG comeback when they're so succesful and their sales haven't even peaked?

3rd gen started 10 years ago but what groups from 10 years ago are still standing? EXO hasn't been relevant for years and it's the 2015-2016 groups that are fading now
