Why’s SM doing a late November comeback for RV when a. all music shows are closed by that point and b. majority of Koreans would be too busy tuning in World Cup like why are they want to flop so bad:rip:

i mean twice switched to a more mature concept after their third year so maybe the same thing will happen with itzy :matty:

though itzy already passed their 3rd anniversary and will celebrate the 4th one

How do people expect 4th gen boy groups to top Korean charts, when BTS themselves are underperforming as well. Korea is truly over boy groups omg :rip:

Like what do str8 Korean men even listen to anyways, since they are also part of the gp? I can't imagine them listening to all these girl groups as well? Like here in the West, you don't see str8 men really bopping to all these pop divas without people looking at them sideways and assuming their sexuality etc...

It's interesting if all these straight Korean men are bopping to songs like "Likey" and are able to bop to all these "girly" songs, without people looking at them sideways. This scenario with all these female acts smashing, would be impossible in the West, since the straight men are big part of the audience in the music market as well. But then aren't Korean women more into boy groups usually, or are they saying #WomenPower and ditching the boy groups as well?

Perched for RV cb, can't wait to see what will they do this time and the theories, I think they ll comeback with a very gp friendly song and they will do great, their fanbase have really grown for them to flop.

Also jin song is very good and so is the video, i'm glad is rising on melon and other formats, the 700k first day sales is impressive, I belive jhope sold around 500k total, since they re not the most popular members i was expecting jin around the same

True but A lot of Koreans man, especially the teens/uny students are more interested in K rappers/ urban artist.

Jay park, Zico, BEO, Big Naughty, Ash Island, Changmo all managed to score top 10 hits meanwhile BG struggled to chart lol.

Heck even Crush scored a top 5 hit this year!

I don't think SM will get them any more crazy singles tbh, I mean, the girls are already in their 8th year and after contract renewal I think they might have some more input, see Queendom and FMR are very gp friendly songs so... I think the ZZB days are over for good. They may asking for serious songs with strong concepts and nice melodies tbh.

I think so, too. Even tho the experimental sound was the best part about them. But SM seems to see them as a cash cow and will milk them until the end with light version of their original content. Very sad tho.

They do tho :clap3:girl groups have a lot of fanboys, it’s a common thing in Korea. They aren’t very loyal tho, see what happened with Twice.

Acid Angels mini is great, especially the first 2 songs

what the hell is with the mixing on the last song tho? their vocals are so drowned out, would be a great song otherwise

A lot of them are definitely listening to (and more importantly thirsting over) those girl groups. Some groups like G-Idle, RV and STAYC probably have more female and queer fans but twice's uncle fans are still very much alive, and likely moved on to IVE or something, since IZ*ONE had like over 70% of male fans.

I think a part of it has to do with Korean mentality - for them it's more normal to listen to something cute and "girly" compared with the Western stereotypes, but of course some (or most) of them view the ggs as a sеxual interest first, music second

same thing with Japan, where many adult men tend to be fans of lolicon

Low key so happy all the hag groups are fading, cause it's time for the new blood and almost every debut this year has been great :clap3:

This whole mini is great, excited for next unit and whole group next year. I'm so over those boring sparkly high budget videos too, bring more NewJeans copycats!

ENHYPEN? Are new boy groups such flops that they had to give a rookie award to a 2020 debut? :skull:
