It honestly needs to be studied how horrible the start of third gen was. Red Velvet needed dance practice, TWICE needed singing lessons and BlackPink needed both. Their debut songs were garbage and I honestly can’t think of a single great third gen debut.
 

Also, the most exciting concept in 3rd Gen was YG trying to combine 2NE1 and SNSD into one group  

 

the amount of wrong takes… twice weren’t even known for their dancing during their debut years, they got quite a lot of hate.

bp’s debut songs are still some of their best, and people really didnt start dragging their dancing until end of Aiiyl/d4.

If only they could utilize Liz for the big vocal moments, we wouldn’t be saying this at all. I’m not saying she is a Wendy level vocalist, but her potential is there and giving her adlibs would have taken the song to another level.

 

So this narrative of ‘no vocal talent’ can be avoided if these companies are able to utilize even ONE member properly who could do some big vocal moments with adlibs without screeching or straining. STAYC comes to mind, since they don’t have any Wendy level vocalists but they incorporate the girls’ adlibs really well.

 

the way twice has made that mistake with keeping Jeongyeon in the backburner since the beginning just to overuse Nayeon and Jihyo’s shrill shrieks and offkey straining, and then momoriah comes with her infamous encore vocals and the group is forever considered vocally talentless. I’ll never shut up about this.

Everyone now talking about IVEs horrific vocals but when I mentioned it their psycho stans jumped me but no its true give these girls vocals lessons instead of TikTok classes Wonyo would serve even harder if she was a competent vocalist

Yes she has so much potential..

 

And also the difference between Eleven Liz and Love Dive/After Like Liz was so drastic as well. She looked so off and lost her confidence from Eleven era after IVE toxic stans bullied her because her body is not like Wonyoung. She used to be so full of energy and served face during Eleven era but lately she looked so gloomy and sad.
