@Mel. how did you like the new CIX song?

 

 

I personally thought it was cute except for the random noises after the ferrari part of the chorus and that BX's rap was only whelming. The verses were top notch though. And the visuals too, can't believe they managed to pull those outfits while The Boyz (group known for stunning visuals) served a tired mess

Hyunbigc0ck kinda has the nicest tone out of everyone in the group

DCT is their best song I agree BUT they need to stop putting NingNing and Giselle in the back like in this gif... like Karina and Winter can stay in the middle but all the girls sit side by side

the chorus still has to grow on me, right now I'm not a big fan of it

yeah, the verses by far is the best part and I'm happy Hyunsuk got to really shine this comeback

The fact that Illusion (a b-side) has performed almost as well as Girls (a title track) shows that there's still demand for aespa. Chorea didn't vibe with Girls as much as they did with other titles and that's okay! They're going to come back with another national hit next time, trust.

Beyoncé alone out raps,  out sings and especially out HARMONIZES the entire kpop industry so it’ll be difficult! Sumni can’t sing and her rapping is  so she won’t be able to serve those complex layering vocals, runs that from the depth of hell to the high heaven…etc . 
 

MAMAMOO is clearly the only group with the talents to pull something like that off. Most of Kpop  GGs can’t even do the most basic harmony so

SM girl groups always have floppier releases sometimes its just how it's always been tbh 

I mean just look at Red Velvet's career trajectory:

- Flopped their debut era

- Had moderate success in 2015

- Flopped again with OOTN

- Had a series of hits from the RR era including one of the biggest GG hits ever

- Released a series of flops from RBB -> Umpah Umpah

- Smashed again with Pyscho

- Shelved era for 2 years, then Queendom does okay

- FMR smashes and their physical sales explode

 

Aespa's career is probably gonna be messy like this

The fact that some people are trying to use the fact that Girls peaked at #8 to write off historic album sales, 5 songs charting simultaneously in the TOP100, a B-side going top 20 and sold out shows in Korea, Japan and the U.S...?

 

Even in SK, aespa already has 2 #1s including a PAK, plus the undisputed biggest song of the 4th gen so far. 

 

Not every song is going to smash, but the way aespa barely did any promo, released on a Friday and still went top 10. They are doing amazing.

i mean I’m glad she went back to black, because bleaching constantly is really damaging to your hair. But I just wished they would style her better. It’s like ever since she gained weight, the stylists don’t know what to do with her and she’s been slowly receding into the background. It’s sad because she’s the best singer in the group and she deserves more shine.

I really love how kpop is unexpected. Because a group had a smash single there is no guarantee that their new comeback won't be flop, when you thought your fave is running for #1 some random song from 5 years ago became viral surpass every artist on charts and when you think your fave released the worst song ever sneakers you think their career will end but it actually becomes their biggest hit in the last 2 years

If they went full promo mode like IVe or Hitzy, Girls would be holding on in the top 10 along a top 5 Illusion but SM doesn't think the effort is worth it apparently.
