If you look at the stats for fancams and also the live performances for Love Dive especially, Wonyoung is clearly the most renowned / eyecatching of the group, regardless of whether or not people like her. The most replayed section of nearly every Love Dive video will her chorus section.

 

That's not the case with other newer girl groups, so it makes sense for Starship to focus on her, at least from their perspective.

I can't believe some of you think the after like video looks cheap. It looks fantastic! The song is fantastic. They're such a good group together. I was worried how Yujin and Wonyoung's group would do but starship has given nothing to worry about. They're doing amazing.

Also Rei kinda deserved the promotion from sub vocal/rapper to lead vocal/rapper.

 

Her tone is the best in IVE and her phrasing is really good, her lines in Love Dive were delivered so well. Liz should have definitely gotten one of Miss Strawberry's chorus lines though

Like her or not, Wonyoung is super popular rn so of course she'll be the center, especially in their first year as a group trying to get their name out there.

Rei got the lead vocalist promotion since LD when she snatched the most lines after Wonyoung (and without rap parts).

It’s okay to give her the most camera time, the most center parts since she’s the face of the group. Her getting the first chorus one time so she can have her killing part moment would have been enough!  A sub vocalist getting the most singing parts is not a good idea and it’s going to backfire one day

Yeah but it makes no sense for a sub-vocalist to snatch lines from the main vocalist

 

Like Irene has never had the most lines in RV, neither is Tzuyu / Dara / YoonA / Sakura etc.
