Can companies stop being so boring though, there's like 300 audition shows, I need something groundbreaking, like a new BoA, not from a group just a solo effort, pure talent and beauty ready to conquer Korea, Japan and the world, what about a co-ed group but with a budget (sorry kard) like honestly, shake it up a little bit, there's so much to invest in, but nooo we need I-land girls version, a jyp-psy noisy boy group enough.gif.

You're probably right. GOT The Beat is just so overpowered in vocals and dance...idk how they can beat that. 

 

A sultry R&B/pop style unit with Joy, Irene, Ningning, Yoona, Yuri etc. could work though. We'll see.

GOT had no time to promote there was Taeyeon's and RV's comeback, and Aespa's long period of doing nothing relevant but being busy. BoA was basically the only one free and I don't think she cared about that track. Wendy was probably the only one that cared about Step Back.

Most of that was SM's fault due to scheduling though, since I think Wendy said they all knew GOT was happening for months before. 

 

When it eventually came out, it was clashing with all their individual schedules. RV and Taeyeon were recording/releasing comebacks. 

 

Aespa was in the middle of promoting Dreams Come True too, so they were doing something. Step Back actually directly clashed with aespa's promotion, especially on music shows.

Pledis management was a disaster, they really dropped the ball. Kahi and friends deserved so much more.

The thing is, SM didn't plan SB to be a hit, I mean, the song is nearly disturbing on first listen, they thought the song would flop so why plan promotion. The release was meant to be an iconic moment with a group formed by four generations of kpop, 20 years of musical history.  I just hope the girls are in for another iconic release with a mini album and a cute week of promotions.

The Pristin thing was so horrendous, they deserve jail time for that How dare you drop a group after two releases, not to mention they were basically the best selling Post IOI group. Like for God's sake Weki Meki is still somehow going on. I didn't even like their music but c'mon, they could have given the girls at least promo until 2019, and see if things picked up.

It was a terrible situation for the girls. Pledis really wasted them. I think though, the company was literally broke by the time PRISTIN debuted. I definitely think those girls deserved more chances, but probably the money wasn't there to do it. 

 

Nana acting career and SVT were barely keeping the lights on. I think if HYBE hadn't taken over the company, it would have closed down.
