Sorecer Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 Not aespa and ITZY having almost the same number of streams on Youtube without the ads
ZENO Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 The fact that SNSD's comeback is giving aegyo-vibes makes me so happy Do you guys think Jessica will do something as well? How is she doing in China?

Karma will get him!

She's just opened her personal studio in China and just signed a new agency deal this month in China. She's also obtained new brand deals with Valentino and Moschino recently, in addition to her existing deals and has appeared in Vogue and Harpers Bazaar in China in the past month or so. Musically, she's on Sisters Who Make Waves, which is confirmed to be the biggest reality show so far in 2022 in China (amassed 4.7 billion views since the season started) and she's consistently ranked 1st-3rd in the public voting/ranking. The show is coming to an end soon and the members of the temporary group will be decided. If Jessica participates in that, she will promote with them in China and then probably move on to solo activities. She has also already confirmed she's working on a new solo album and will have a collaboration with French Montana. She'll also be re-releasing a compilation version of her first 3 mini albums on vinyl at some point (not sure when it will be out), so she has a lot in the works.

I genuinely miss her... I even remember where I was what I was doing when SM announced her departure from the group. Still, I wish she was more active music-wise. And I was kinda wondering about hypothetical release due of her My Decade mini being released to also celebrate her 10th anniversary. (Wonderland remains her best body of work tho)

(Wonderland remains her best body of work tho) She's released a couple of droplets music wise (a few new songs for the OST of Jessica & Krystal S2), but yes she has been inactive musically for a little while. I think we'll get new music from her this year though, since China has pretty much welcomed her with open arms lately. She tried (and to some extent succeeded) in Korea, but SM will always make it impossible for her to promote properly there. In China, she's supported, has a sizeable fanbase and plenty of opportunities so far. I'd love her to surprise us with something for her 15th anniversary, but I think if she's debuting in the Sisters Who Make Waves project girl group, she might not get time. OT: Also you should check out her performances on Sisters Who Make Waves if you miss her...she's doing amazing! Edited July 24, 2022 by Zack

Ten has been trapped in the Shanghai lockdown, Lucas is indefinitely dungeoned (50/50 if he'll ever be allowed back or not) and I think Winwin could be leaving SM next year (if he isn't on the 7+3 contract). All this, plus the fact that WayV sells a fraction of the numbers that NCT 127 and NCT Dream are doing and I think SM is pulling a f(x) on them sadly. I don't think the numbers they are doing is an issue, their latest mini was almost at 400k and that's with a chinese release, they would be selling in the 700k-1M range already if it wasn't for the forced hiatus

MusicFan98 Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 It bothers me how SM believes they can hide the Lucas situation forever like c'mon it's been forever, just drop him already.

If they were pulling in big numbers like the other units, SM would have had them comeback in some capacity by now, or tried more subunit releases. SM's ventures in China never seem to work out though 1 minute ago, ZENO said: I'd kinda love her to debut with Cyndi tbh. I think a music career in China is the most likely for her at this point, especially since she's just opened her personal studio for her activities in China. SM will never let her breathe in Korea.

Itzy’s video will have more longevity though, like they will at least pull 600k+ every day for months which are organic views. “Sneakers” will in short do better than “Girls” on streaming. But if we are talking about quality then “Girls” stomps
