AMIT Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Truly a shocking development. Honestly Hikky had one of the stronger song selections although the latest updates gave us a sign she might be underperforming unfortunately. All in all her missing the Top 5 and only 1 song in the top 10 is crazy. 2
Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 6. Duty from Duty (2000) AVERAGE: 9.34 HIGH SCORE: 11 x 1 (SA*KURA) || 10 x 9 (UrMom, Maresia, Graves, Kyle-x, AMIT, confide in me, getinthezone, Britneyfan09, Suilen) LOW SCORE: 6 x 1 (romiskes) Graves: Weird and wonderful, a great look into how downright strange Ayu's music could be, even at her absolute commercial peak. Chanting like she's conducting a ritual, about to sacrifice Namie's falling sales for another ten years of number ones I fear. Kyle-x: Never gets old. AMIT: never gets old, chills every time madonnas: A good slice of drama-pop, even if the album cover is VERY MISLEADING Curaga: That Spanish-sounding guitar makes this sound so sexy

Deep River from DEEP RIVER (2002) AVERAGE: 9.33 HIGH SCORE: 11 x 1 (Graves) || 10 x 5 (Maresia, Kyle-x, AMIT, Bad Decisions, confide in me) LOW SCORE: 7 x 1 (Britneyfan09) Graves: Perhaps the most beautiful song in her entire discography, a sitar-lead ballad is a rare treat. There's depth here that wasn't present on the earlier albums, in fact she was kinda serving teen popstar flavor of the moment before this era, which is why it really feels like this track is the moment Hikaru grew up. Kyle-x: Girls, DEEP RIVER is such a beautiful album and song ugh. Curaga: Hitting those high notes That's my fav part of the song! They ate this. Still not a personal 10 though, oop 🙊 AMIT: truly feels like you're bathing in a fairy fountain, incredible song -------------- 宇多田ヒカル Results Recap 7. Deep River 11. Find Love 15. BLUE 18. Suilen Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I have no words. People really said miss Ayama peaked in the 90s.

Graves Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Namie is coming for both top two spots after her earlier decimation.
AMIT Posted January 26 Posted January 26 We hate to see this barely missing the Top 5 omg. Things are getting heated now.
Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 5. Hide & Seek from PLAY (2007) AVERAGE: 9.37 HIGH SCORE: 10 x 8 (UrMom, Graves, Kyle-x, madonnas, AMIT, romiskes, getinthezone, Britneyfan09) LOW SCORE: 8 x 1 (confide in me) Graves: Play is not my favorite Namie album, but this might just be my favorite Namie song! This electro-R&B marching band banger is one of the most fun and chaotic pieces of J-pop I've ever heard and I was sold from my first play. I always thought that Namie's music from this period made for one of the easiest entry points into J-pop for an English listener, it sounds familiar enough while still totally unique at the same time. Universal goodness! Kyle-x: Kinda insane this wasn't a single. Curaga: Kinda seems like an extended intro type song, but, mama, I am marching! AMIT: major bop, luvv this entire album except for a single certain song
Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 A mega bop and the live performances outfits always a serve
Suilen Posted January 26 Posted January 26 That's how you announce to the world that your flop era is over.

Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 4. And Then from LOVEppears (1999) AVERAGE: 9.39 HIGH SCORE: 10 x 8 (UrMom, Maresia, Kyle-x, madonnas, AMIT, Curaga, confide in me, getinthezone) LOW SCORE: 7.5 x 1 (Suilen) Graves: The theme song of Loveppears, icy pop bliss incarnate. The fact that this album only has like three album tracks left to choose from and this is still one of the best, if not outright better than most of the proper singles... iconic. Kyle-x: Cuntressery of the highest order. Curaga: PEEERIOD. Just masterful, like wtf... 11 contender madonnas: you know this is a great album when you don't know what the singles are because all of them sound like highlights
