AMIT Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I'm low key surprised A Song for XX made it to the top 10 with the way y'all butchered her debut in the discog rate nn. Namie dark-horsing during these last 2 updates and one-upping Kumi and Hikky is kind of a gag actually. I would fume but those 3 remaining songs are truly great so she's safe for now. The best track (from this rate's selections at least) each from Kumi and Hikky being their highest feels right. Anyways this is feminist anthem's Ladies Night's to lose.

Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 10. Because of You from Memorial address (2003) AVERAGE: 9.17 HIGH SCORE: 10 x 8 (UrMom, Graves, Kyle-x, AMIT, Curaga, getinthezone, Britneyfan09, Suilen) LOW SCORE: 6.5 x 1 (madonnas) Graves: Is this the best pop-rock track Ayu ever did? I think it might be, and that's not just my Memorial Address stanning ass acting up either. Not a second of wasted runtime on this one. I fear MY STORY was pointless as she had already perfected its entire formula on this one song. Kyle-x: Undeniable smash. Curaga: Why is this so satisfying, omg; I just love it. AMIT: no praise is enough praise for this masterpiece whew she really did that
Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 One of her best rock songs and the live performances for it always slay
Curaga Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Average 9.17 Love seeing all those 10s! Should have been top 5 though oop
Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 9. Ladies Night from (miss)understood (2006) AVERAGE: 9.31 HIGH SCORE: 11 x 1 (Kyle-x) || 10 x 4 (UrMom, Maresia, madonnas, Britneyfan09) LOW SCORE: 7.9 x 1 (Curaga) Graves: A really good dance track, but it needed more of a pop-off during the chorus to become a truly great one. I love a lot of moments on this track, especially the spoken chanting part, but it doesn't hit as well knowing a lot of it was just copied right from the Sweetbox version. Don't get me wrong, Ayu's take is still superior by a big margin, but I fear she could've evolved the original a bit more. Kyle-x: The perfect song with a perfect video omfg. AMIT: this was not one of my faves back then, but it grew a lot on me and I see the vision now, the MV has always been dope though madonnas: this is the first ayu song i ever heard because my friend said i had to watch the music video. its one of the most bonkers music videos ever seen? shes like in a madonna justify my love fantasy but shes also envisioning herself as a fascist dictator?? and then theres a weird butterfly room? i dont get it but i love the video! oh the song's a huge bop too.
Curaga Posted January 26 Posted January 26 ddhghgjhjg I didn't think 7.9 would end up being a drag at all 1
AMIT Posted January 26 Posted January 26 1 minute ago, Suilen said: Curaga gotta stop dragging homosexuah-coded songs And the edgy "she does not deserve a full 8 from me!" too like don't piss me off 1 1

Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 8. Defend Love from PAST<FUTURE (2009) AVERAGE: 9.32 HIGH SCORE: 10 x 8 (Graves, Maresia, Kyle-x, madonnas, AMIT, Curaga, getinthezone, Britneyfan09) LOW SCORE: 7 x 2 (UrMom, romiskes) Graves: A dark pop masterpiece, ooh this one still slays me to this day. The icy, unfulfilled synths that give it a space age vibe are divine, and Namie's rapid speed spitting delivery is so cute. A one of a kind song in her discography and it makes me almost ok with her pivot away from R&B proper. Almost. Kyle-x: EAT EAT EAT. Curaga: She defended love and served cvnt doing it AMIT: maybe in my top 5 namie songs, catchy af does and not get old
Curaga Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Oh damn, I really thought Defend Love was taking it after yesterday's results Praying for an And Then win now!
Suilen Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Didn't expect it to go that high, that was one of those songs where I went with my gut feeling instead of a last.fm shoutbox 1
Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 Next elimination may be a little controversial I fear
Britneyfan09 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 7. Deep River from DEEP RIVER (2002) AVERAGE: 9.33 HIGH SCORE: 11 x 1 (Graves) || 10 x 5 (Maresia, Kyle-x, AMIT, Bad Decisions, confide in me) LOW SCORE: 7 x 1 (Britneyfan09) Graves: Perhaps the most beautiful song in her entire discography, a sitar-lead ballad is a rare treat. There's depth here that wasn't present on the earlier albums, in fact she was kinda serving teen popstar flavor of the moment before this era, which is why it really feels like this track is the moment Hikaru grew up. Kyle-x: Girls, DEEP RIVER is such a beautiful album and song ugh. Curaga: Hitting those high notes That's my fav part of the song! They ate this. Still not a personal 10 though, oop 🙊 AMIT: truly feels like you're bathing in a fairy fountain, incredible song -------------- 宇多田ヒカル Results Recap 7. Deep River 11. Find Love 15. BLUE 18.
