My tears ricochet is so sumptuous and exquisite, like a 19th century classical composition. Ugh. Another certified classic for Mr Antonoff.

The way he produced 5 songs without Dessner for folklore and they’re all in the top 6 of that album. But I don’t think we’re ready for that conversation.

But Dessner has the entire top 3 though  cardigan, the last great american dynasty and invisible string.

But tbf mirrorball, my tears ricochet, this is me trying, illicit affairs and august are all 11/10 songs.

folklore is such a masterpiece. :clap3:

(if only Ugly Betty was shelved the album would be all 10+/10 songs)

Jack is a TALENTED king and arguably her best collaborator with Aaron, lets not get it twisted

It's just the Jacklor fatigue making us drag him

But Aaron produced more songs than Jack on AOTY winner folklore, and even more on her actual best album, AOTY nominee evermore.

Jack does not deserve the hate he's getting though. We love him (just not as much as Daddy Dessner).

I Don't Wanna Live Forever

Getaway Car

Dress

Cruel Summer

August

My Tears Ricochet

This Is Me Trying

Mirrorball

August

Gold Rush

This list of 11/10 songs from a variety of genres, evoking a broad range of rich atmospheres, each one with top-shelf sumptuous, intricately detailed production

Dessner is not seeing this diversity with her (yet), and that's a fact

Aaron only worked on four songs on Midnights, yet they're the best songs off the album. It's time for a follow-up to Midnights where Jack gets one or two credits (like on evermore), and Aaron gets the rest :heart2:

A pop album full of songs like the ones Aaron worked on for Midnights could very well be regarded as the greatest pop album of all time :heart2:

Imagining an album full of Would've Could've Should've, The Great War and High Infidelity... :jonny5:

Well he's been on 2 albums + 4 songs on Middy. Jack has been working with her since 2013.

And the 4 Middy songs prove that Aaron has the range to make many amazing things with her and explore various other genres.

The mixing on REDTV is off, but not in a technical way. Sound mixing for music nowadays is much more vocal forward, and a LOT less loud than everything around the early 2010s.

Like, Rowe is engineering the sound of the music according to what the current trends are but since we're so used to the original recordings it just sounds...wrong.

Hack can stay but he shouldn't be the sole producer for TS11. Him producing only one song on evermore worked perfectly

Big Machine:

Speak Now > reputation > Fearless > Red > 1989 > Debut

Republic:

evermore > folklore > Red TV > Midnights > Fearless TV >>>> Lover

i know I’m gonna ruffle some feathers with this but I don’t care :gaycat1:

Original Fearless was a lot more solid of an album for what it was as opposed to Red 2012. Red TV and its vault tracks far and away demolish both versions of Fearless though.

Let it be known that every single album besides Debut and Lover are 9/10s or higher though, and these rankings have FRACTIONAL differences in points in my mind.

Speak Now was always the stronger album than Red but y’all aren’t ready to hear that! It has high highs like Red (Last Kiss, Dear John, Enchanted all on par with State of Grace, All Too Well, Treacherous etc) but NOTHING as low as WANEGBT or Stay Stay Stay. It is consistent, Red 2012 can’t relate!

and I’m a Puta stan, sue me. I genuinely enjoy it most out of all her big machine albums and revisit it the most!

EXACTLY :clap3:

It has to be the mixing on the TVs :rip:

Today by mistake some Tweets by that side fandom came into my twitter feed

My god I was devasted. They are spreading rumors about Taylor, circulating fake blinds and calling her what not. I can't believe they are actually Taylor fans :rip:

Is there really only 5k of the new edition nn what’s the point

Apparently Ed sold signed CDs of - at his tour, hence the surprisingly big opening week. Imagine if Taylor did this, back to #1 confirmed even without 3AM :jonny5:

Forget signed CDs, even just selling regular CDs and vinyl at her merch stands would give her albums quite the sizable boost I feel like. People would definitely buy them in the heat of the moment as they're getting ready for the concert.

I really wonder why she isn't selling any of her music at her shows.

This is a really good way to express what I've been trying to say forever! It's going to sound different because it's updated to now.

I actually like the changes, they make the songs sound less of their time like ikywt sounds so 2012 but the new one sounds more in line with what's current

Edit: quoted myself by accident but can't delete quotes ever

This version of IKYWT is actually quite decent, but there's something about how she's just not on the right note for the "IIIII" in the first line of the chorus of 22 (which is why I still prefer the original vocal take there by far). It's definitely flat compared to the original, and it's one of the most bothersome differences for me.
