Cloröx Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Dorothea aka Selena is so cute, immaculate. Top 3 in the album no question
On The Bound Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 We need TS10 to be Aaron-produced indie rock, like Trouble Will Find Me-era The National or Tramp-era Sharon Van Etten...Aaron's more guitar heavy work would suit Taylor so well and we've been begging for a rock album for ages
Cruel Summer Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Folklore: 1) Mirrorball 2) Illicit Affairs 3) Mad Woman 4) Exile 5) Seven Evermore: 1) RWYLM 2) ‘Tis the Damn Season 3) Ivy 4) Cowboy Like Me 5) Evermore god we were so blessed with these two albums, completely out of nowhere, she’s incredible didn’t expect CLM in my top 5 or Mirrorball to be my #1 now but here we are, imagine if she made a whole album that sounded like Mirrorball
Cloröx Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 I'm doing my definitive list from best to worst less best : folklore: 01. my tears ricochet 02. exile 03. mirrorball 04. cardigan 05. seven 06. august 07. mad woman 08. epiphany 09. invisible strings 10. the last great american dynasty 11. peace 12. this is me trying 13. hoax 14. the lakes 15. the 1 16. betty 17. illicit affair evermore: 01. champagne problems 02. marjorie 03. dorothea 04. happiness 05. evermore 06. right where you left me 07. cowboy like me 08. gold rush 09. Cruel Summer Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Red TV might be the best album ever recorded. Might be my favorite that I'll ever hear - I may never love another body of work this much. What a ******* weird feeling to think about.
Dear Reader Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 At what time did she announce Red TV? Are we ready for another day of clowning?

I don't think I'll ever love an album of hers as much as I love this one... But I also thought that about Red

Red tv isn’t my fav- but pre TV red, my ranking was 1) folklore 2) 1989 3) red… tv brought it up to 2. But I feel the same way about folklore- but pre folklore i thougjt she’d never top 1989 so who know
Beyonnaise Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 August The Last Great American Dynasty Mirrorball Illicit Affairs Peace Cowboy Like Me Evermore Marjorie Tolerate It Ivy
Cruel Summer Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Just realized that if you account for the fact that it's a double album, Red TV has already outperformed Evermore by a lot With boosts from other TV releases or a new album this year, I think it could pretty easily hit 3x platinum eligibility in 2022.

Achilles. Posted April 15, 2022 Author Posted April 15, 2022 Just relistened to Loser probably for the first time since folkmore dropped and it’s… fine. I stand by what I said about it being her least ambitious, safest, least emotional, most by-the-numbers album. That still puts it leaps and bounds ahead of what other superstars release. But I could use another, better pop album from her.

Achilles. Posted April 15, 2022 Author Posted April 15, 2022 But now I’m thinking, what is TS10 even going to be? In the past her eras have always been formulated at least in part as a response to how the public percieved Taylor at the time she was making them, but she’s aware of that and says she doesn’t want to work that way anymore. (Personally, I think having the self-awareness to know how people see you and feel about you is a gift not to be cast aside, but I get that she doesn’t want to be chasing people’s validation for the rest of her life). But then… she is more beloved than ever before, her career has arguably never been better… so what is there to light that fire under her feet, anyways? A desire to prove that she can still score proper hits and compete with the next generation of stars? We kinda saw shades of that with the Lover singles, but her streaming dominance is such that she doesn’t even need hits in order to be the top female artist in the world. We’re lucky that she was able to course-correct so swiftly after ME! instead of dragging us down a painful road of increasingly embarrassing attempts to stay relevant (see: M). But I do think that defying ageism is something that would appeal to her, so perhaps we’ll see her focus more on the AC format in the future? IDK. And where will she go lyrically? She’s still with Joe, and things are presumably going very well on that front. But she can’t spend the rest of her career churning out Lover reduxes about him. So I expect we’ll be getting a lot more storytelling songs from her in the future. There’s also always the option of writing songs that aren’t about romantic relationships but her milage varies quite a bit on that front. So maybe TS10 will marry the lyricism of folklore with poppier sensibilities? IDK.
