True, but if the rumours that she flew to Stockholm a few times during the European leg of the tour + as recently as this weekend are true, then I don't think it can be anyone but Max.

There's no producer in the world for whom she'd fly halfway across the world so shortly before Christmas… except Max Martin. :lakitu:

Mte

I have no doubt that if Max is heavily involved in TS12, someone like Elvira might be as well. Patrik Berger is also Swedish, so I mean…

But regardless, flying out yet again so close to Christmas? 100% this one was for Max Martin.

Yeah, she's not sneaking in quick trips the day before a game to go see Elvira

Spoiler

Could the hypothetical... tension between Taylor and someone's wife potentially get in the way of her relationship with Patrik Berger? He hasn't worked one on one with Taylor iirc, though maybe that wouldn't be an issue and I'm just freaking out over nothing, because you know how much I want him to continue working with Taylor

ddd it's mostly in jest (because I doubt their validity) but there are rumors circling - they were discussed a few pages back - that there's tension between Taylor and the wife of one of her producers the one with the Lana song, which has spilled over into Taylor's relationship with said producer, and with whom every Taylor-Patrik Berger collaboration has occurred :shake:

I can't foresee these relationship problems, if they're even real, getting in between a potential collaboration between Taylor and Patrik directly, but there is always the chance :eli:

Anyway in other news, the guy at Stereogum who has been reviewing every #1 hit finally made his way to Look What You Made Me Do, and I think we need to have a conversation. This is a camp classic, and yet... it's not being treated as such. Yes yes it's nearly diamond and has several billions of streams across all platforms, and yes yes its absolutely cataclysmic chart collapse is iconic, but... we don't discuss it enough? Like... why aren't we still writing op-eds dissecting every bit of this song? There's more to be said, and I know y'all aren't lazy because I see how much money you have to throw at her. I'm a notable Obsessed Reputation Hater, and while I'm underwhelmed by much of the album, I truly believe Look is just pure and excellent cigpop. The chorus is intentionally terrible and repetitive, and the bridge is incredibly theatrical and corny, and it sounds a bit like a drag queen diss track, and it samples I'm Too Sexy (also cigpop, no matter what people tell you), and straight people absolutely hate it, and it serves so much cuñt that you can see it from space, and yet... y'all can't be bothered to pick up its crown and give it the praise it deserves. It's so bad that it's good, ironically and unironically, unlike other... Taylor Swift Lead Single Syndrome sufferers which are so bad they're irredeemable. Don't even get me started on the collapse of a tour rendition. Why aren't we making threads about this song at least once a month? Where have we been led astray? Have we been beaten down so thoroughly by the THOTS lashings that we can't even get up and fight back, even with this cigpop song that they all love even if they pretend it's terrible? Have some shame, Swifties. Have some class, and have some gumption! FIGHT! FIGHT FOR LOOK! FIGHT FOR HER HONOR!

I find redemption in the crowd absolutely losing it during the Eras tour when the song is preformed. Taylor knows the collapse on her hands given the performance is the best in the show hands down

I'll put your names down for fundraising and the media push, we ride at dawn :shake:

When we finally get the Eras live album (and there's a ticking time bomb I'm gonna lob through your window if we don't have it before the end of January, Blondie), I'm going to make it my MISSION to make sure everyone on this godforsaken website is intimately familiar with the cuñt served in the guitarry live rock version. I've watched the bootleg film clip on YouTube so many times that I've started doing the head banging and hip sway choreography along with Elliotte and Taylor during the second verse-pre chorus transition and then also the sexy Mean Girls Christmas dance-esque stuff during the second chorus :ryan3:

The streets of beloved swoomfs in my WhatsApp are saying that something weird happened between Jack and Taylor between the August Wembley performance and then the VMAs the next month because after that time he let Ratty into his home studio, had a post-tour party in New York when she was in town but she didn't show, and he never went to a final Eras show despite saying he would, etc etc etc. Let me just quote "Dec 7: Reads a pre-written speech where he doesn't acknowledge Taylor at all during his award, but praises Lana and Charli. Talks about how much he loves George and mentions The 1975 by name again. Laura calls Taylor out by name when he asks who he has forgotten and Jack ignores her comment." Immediately after which, he calls TTPD "Dead Poets", didn't post a birthday message despite having done so for several years up to this point, and on and on and on with all these weird little things that are nothing on their own but... there is very much a trend

It's probably nothing substantial, but it's starting to add up and there's more from beloved swoomf that I'm cutting out so I don't look deranged but that I genuinely believe so take that for what you will

Spoiler

And apparently the reason the VMAs were so awk was because Margaret flat out does not like Taylor and this is reliant on reported private instagram shenanigans that I'm also cutting to not look deranged but they involve Travis and it's just... weird and therefore Taylor spent the evening hiding backstage so she wouldn't have to sit next to her, which is like... fifth degree stale tea but given how weird that night was I'm inclined to believe it because why tf would she have several cuñty UFO outfits and then just never show them to the camera, and why did she stay backstage while several of her friends were performing?

Spoiler

And also streets in 2023 were saying that Margaret and Hobo were probably **** talking Taylor while they were in Panama because that was after he started dallying with others and also that Margaret didn't receive the post-Ratty crowd stunt she pulled which wasn't intentional but also wasn't not intentional ddd at Margaret and Jack's wedding rehearsal in NJ particularly well, to say the least (and that's coming from a tabloid iirc, but I can't find the article so maybe I'm making that up lmao anyway)

Spoiler

But I'm rather unreliable and have been proven to be very wrong in the past, but I trust this oomf and their ability to sniff-out truly inside stuff wholeheartedly, so believe what you'd like

Basically I think Margaret gave Jack a "her or me" ultimatum at one point because it's just not making sense for me otherwise

See... I still think he's a really strong producer and do really like almost everything they've ever made together and was actually really excited he was all over the Kendrick album because I feel like it would inspire him and Taylor to start adventuring out of their sound some :suburban:

I still think Jack will be on the album. They've been in the studio together since the TTPD sessions. I think what's more likely is Taylor was working with Jack up until the reviews for the TTPD came in and she decided to add new producers to ts12 along with some Jack tracks.

We'll have to ******* see but she was popping in and out of Electric Lady way too late last year (and I think even in like Jan 2024) to have made the TTPD vinyl pressings, so either it was for last minute Anthology touch-ups or... but I think the streets are sniffing something out here

Spoiler

ddd yeah it was a ******* mess all around because that was right after he reportedly went on an instagram model bed-hopping spree in London while she was gearing up to release and promote Red TV in New York and that's why she looked so busted that week dfjslkdfj so when she flew down for that visit in the middle of making Midnights (after she and Jack started but before Dec 5th and YLM, if I have the dates right), it was more of a reconciliation and repair trip than anything else :deadbanana4:

And as for Jack talking about Look, I know he said that he and Taylor had written out more of a chorus but then stripped it back to match the interpolation for the sake of abrasiveness, and there's also this video which I honestly didn't know existed despite being literally glued to twitter that week #fakefan:

Spoiler

The way Katy's career was on such fragile ground by the time this came out (in the sense that CTTR had come and gone and she was in the process of the illuminati ritual humiliations of the Bon Appetit and then Swish Swish promo campaigns) that, despite not being about her in any way whatsoever, the sheer fact that this song might have been about her was enough to steamroll whatever little goodwill she had left dddd

And yeah, despite not exactly being a cardigan, it had a purpose and it stuck the landing, and nearly a decade out, it's been thoroughly vindicated and has held up well. **sothelioma could truly only dream.

 :khalyan:

I spent the entire month of September 2017 trying to convince everyone around me that it was a good song, that they should watch the video on YouTube a few more times, and that they should buy it on iTunes if they hadn't. I still have a bookmarks folder on safari on my old laptop with a list of the request links for the chr/top 40 stations in every major US media market. I've been fighting this fight for as long as there's been a fight to fight. Admittedly, I spent all of October 2017-June 2018 resenting the hell out of Look because I thought it singlehandedly wrecked her as a hitmaker (and to some degree it kinda did...) before the coming of Dalaicate, but that was always bitter resentment and was not a bearing on it's quality. I will admit that there was a shameful period in which I was an IDSB for lead truther, and then an even more shameful period in which I was a... *shudders at the thought* Nice Things for lead single truther, but I've recovered my sense of good taste, and I've been a ***** for Look ever since. It's honestly a Swiftie shibboleth for me, if you like it, I like you and you're a part of the Cool Swifties Club :eli:. I'm absolutely willing to admit that it's sort of a terrible song, but in a good way that makes me want to listen to it over and over. In fact, let me go watch the video now.

:suburban:

Anyway, I have a bunch of friends coming over for new years thing, I'll make sure to work this into the playlist at least 4-5 times and see if any of them notice. Hopefully we can begin to proselytize the Good Word :fan:
