What are y'all's hurry?

:suburban:

I don't think there's a hurry; the orange color has just been confusing Swiftectives for a while now and Taylor is literally insane enough to end her tour with the bang of announcing a new album

I personally don't think she wants TTPD to be her most recent album for too long since it focuses on a unique period of time that she's so far removed from now

Tbh, certain publications (such as RS) who gave TTPD a 100 ranking it so low on their year-end after the hate bandwagon confirms my theory that TS12 will get an even lower critic score than TTPD. I don't think it matters how it sounds lol, even folklore would get a 75 if released now.

Does Taylor Swift herself know she has to announce an entire new album in 6 days?

That's one of the reasons why I would love it if she announces TS12 during the last show. Some publications clearly want her to stop releasing music. Make them seethe. :sistrens:

Speaking of YE rankings, I'm starting to wonder whether TTPD or evermore is gonna end up #1 on mine. The obsession is real these last few months, and evermore had a 4 months head-start to begin with.  :deadbanana4:

Well I lied, according to my Apple Music Replay, I listened to TTPD 9 times as much as evermore :deadbanana4::deadbanana4::deadbanana4::deadbanana4:

I know she is tasteful with her collabs but I kinda REALLY dont want any collabs on TS12....like ZERO.

I'd be down for some collabs on Vault tracks for Reputation TV and Debut TV but for TS12 I want it to be totally solo

I've had Tortured Poets in my car since it came out and swapping to The Anthology when I got that (which I always loved but listened to less frequently) -- after not listening to it much has made me really wish that she released The Anthology as a singular body of work. It would have been given so much deserved attention and praise. But I also think that it should be given the label as TS12 since its such a departure sonically from the standard.

Anyway, I was listening to Robin in the car today and it got me. I didn't cry but it really resonated. I usually give that song dust, but I've been feeling very nostalgic recently.

Kinda agree that she should have done a folklore/evermore type of release for TTPD/TA. But at the same time, both sides are so intrinsically linked that I'm not sure it would have worked as well for me. Imagine spending 4-5 months with TTPD without having Chloe or Sam to make sense of all of that? :deadbanana:

Will we ever get predictions this week? Kendrick will still do 200K and who knows how much she will sell, she never even posted about it since it was out (weird AF).

Good point! I'd never forgive her if she had that song in her pocket for so many months before releasing it. By far one of my absolute favorites, including The Bolter.

Evermore is #7 on mine currently but Lord knows that if there's any album that could come for TTPD's wig at the last second… :ninja:

Although, to be fair, if Apple Music Replay correctly accounted for songs we've uploaded from other sources, The Prophecy X Long Story Short would be my #1 song by a million miles so they'd both kinda win! (Even if TTPD would formally get credit)

The horror. :deadbanana4: Imagine expecting a happy album and she releases another album about f*cking M*tty Healy. :deadbanana: A nightmare. :gaycat7:

evermore ended #3 on mine and that's the lowest its been since 2021 (because there was no chance of it being #1 in 2020). #1 in 2021, #1 in 2022, #2 in 2023. I'm not the stan I used to be. :gaycat6:

If she just got with the program and released Evermore LPSS she'd lock down my #1 for at least the next century :dies:

If there's one thing I'd want more from her than a new album, it's definitely this. The folklore LPSS is probably my favorite thing she's ever done, even more than the folklore album. I need her to sit down, talk about the creative process and whatnot of evermore, and play the songs acoustically in a little set with Jack and Aaron, more than anything else.

Generally speaking, I would really like her to talk more about the creative process of each album tbh. This aspect has been severely missing for me. Like imagine the most she talked about TTPD was "I never needed songwriting more in my life". Sis I'm gonna need you to expend a little on that. Spare insights please. :gaycat7:

A few thoughts here.

Given the facts that she's given every album prior to Lover special attention with the rerecordings, that Folklore got the LPSS, that Midnights and TTPD got special surprise additions of several new songs, and that Lover got its own "More Chapter" and the resurgence of Cruel Summer, that sort of leaves Evermore on a little island of its own without anything special. Add that to it having the quietest commercial performance of all her studio releases so far, and it leaves Evermore as sort of the dark horse of her discography. But I think she's aware of that to some extent, and she's probably also aware that some corners of the internet want an LPSS recording for it - so I have hope that, someday, she'll come back and do something special for Evermore.

I also thing Evermore lends itself even better to an LPSS style recording than Folklore did. It's the melodies, really - they'd help it shine so beautifully in that setting. Can you imagine TTDS and RWYLM done in an acoustic live session? The LPSS did fantastic things for Illicit Affairs and Mirrorball and August and more - I have no doubt it would do the same for several Evermore tracks.

But I also agree about hearing more expanded thoughts on some of her albums. That reminds me of how Björk, another artist in my personal top five, did a podcast series when her latest record came out that did exactly that kind of thing. I'd want Taylor's to be a longer format, like something like two hours for each album with guests who worked on each one, and because she's a real capitalist girlie I'm sure she'd pair it with some kind of chart-eligible box set - but just think of all that she could say about those albums that got the least said about their creative processes so far, or the new insights she could give about classic albums like Red and 1989. I just want to know - the history, the lore, even the possible mundane realities like "oh all of TTPD was actually entirely fictional and I just thought it would be funny to play this caricature of myself that was obsessively in love with a problematic man" (this is actually my IRL theory for TTPD) :gaycat6:

My wholehearted belief is that the standard should've come out on 4/19 and then TA should've come the week after that as an accompanying "TS11.5" if you will, (if we want to pull a Liddo and get pedantic ddd)

and she should've stayed out of the singles game entirely because that's been a humiliation ritual this go around, and maybe I Can Do It With Some Broken Eardrums and Thank You, Aimee Schumer could've fallen off the back of the turnip truck and into the rejects pile :eli:

What if the orange is just side b to reputation TV since the vault tracks are "fire". 🔥

I'm not getting my hopes up so I'm very surprised if a new era happens.

I want her to go all out on collabs tbh. Fill it up with people currently loved. Sabrina, sza, Kendrick, Gracie, The Weeknd

See I'm booking a Fearless TV promo cycle with a Speak Now TV charts performance for reputation TV (because I want it buried in a week, and the single-personality-trait McPutaTVNators are the most annoying people in the fanbase by far), and then after a week we can pretend it never happened instead of having to go back and unearth all of our collective 2016 PTSD for the sake of an edgy era that her heart's not in and never really made sense at the time either

:suburban:

Maybe my hot take is that I'm actually really dreading Reputation TV as a concept, and also because I know she's going to ******* ruin PWOHC and LWrath of taYMMD :lakitu:

Anyway, have you given your tithe streams to the Holy Gospel this week?
