She will definitely announce it. She's never doing another surprise release anymore after the Billboard rule changes.

I could see her see another surprise drop in the future, but not for a Taylor's Version. It's very clear she wants those pre-orders to make the re-records moments.

She’d be dumb to announce something as chaotic as reputation in her Japan shows where the Japanese audience are super polite. The reaction would simply be just applauses.

For physical albums. After folklore, only albums shipped during a certain week will be counted as a sale for that week. 

She debuted high with Folklore because she was able to report every album sale of that week, which only shipped weeks later. With evermore, that was no longer the case.

She's not doing another surprise release. Months of pre-orders work too much in her favor and she's not going to release an album and rely only on streaming on its first week.

A new album without pre-orders could easily do 500-600k SPS first week. I don't think she would do it anytime soon anyway. Probably later down the line, similarly to folklore, when she wants/needs a career shift.

Guys no!!!!!! There's the rule that Billboard implemented back in 2020 that only the shipments will count as sales for any given week. 

 

She's not gonna be able to release and mass deliver 600k albums in one week.

Maybe she will, maybe she won't. But I don't think completely ruling out the possibility of another surprise release is reasonable. folklore and evermore would have also performed better with pre-orders on their side, that didn't stop her.

The problem that evermore (and to a lesser degree Fearless TV) had was that they were finished just a few weeks before they were released so she literally hadn't made the physicals yet. If Taylor finished an album 3-6 months in advance of its release and prepped all of the physicals to be ready to ship the first week, it wouldn't be a problem if she surprise released, since the vast vast majority of people who pre-order would just buy a physical during that week, and the people who buy copies after release would continue to buy their copy after the release week. She wouldn't have physical copies in big-box retailers or record stores for the first few days (maybe even the first week), but that wouldn't be more than 150k lost sales, which would be made up the next week, so I don't think it's really a big issue
