Normani is funny. She's basically pretending she was away because she was filming a movie. I'm guessing we're back to the, "she's going to use freaky tales' promo slots to promote her music too" trajectory for 2025.

Tea for today, Tate dropped Sean bankhead for the first time since she started working with him. He's still doing live stuff but didn't do her latest video.

I bring this up because a lot of y'all want Normani to pick up Bankhead again but the girls dropping him left and right and no big artists have called him in a while.

Parris is going up though to the highest levels. Bey and Gaga back to back. Normani got in nice and early, she already worked with Rihanna often, now she can leverage that for better choreography too.:bird:

I respectfully disagree.

Sean is booked and busy and we have to be careful that we're not equating not working with an act to being "dropped". HE may been the one with an external commitment.

As for Parris x Normani. Jury's out. Because those Spotify performances were half slay/half chop. Textbook example that it's not always a perfect match when great performers and great choreographers link up. It's about understanding the nuances of the act, what excites the audience about them, and new ways to elevate it. Nothing about those Spotify performances gave that. Not even the good parts.

Plus, I'd much rather Mani had a Sean Bankhead or similar in her pocket as HER person rather than someone who will throw her scraps of available time as and when. You mention Gaga and Bey. Parris would always prioritize those calls (as would anyone). Both for the comparable check and the profile it gives. Plus, as a Little Monster, I'm very much getting that Parris is Gaga's new Laurieann. Which means any work with Mani would be "in addition" to. Which is very different to what the Bankhead run was.

TBH, we're jumping the gun. We still have zero clue what (if anything) is going on with the music. So, I really think we have bigger fish to fry.

Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Im crashing out slowly i just don't understand why we can't get some visuals like that's weird why pay dancers crew directors location sites/permits to film stylist's makeup artists hairstyles props editors like that's a lot of money like I just can't see a record label paying for all that and possibly scraping it or is she the one that isn't releasing them or are they still not finished ..like you might as well release it and get some form of an investment back I'm drawing a blank on all fronts

This is why I do think something will materalize eventually. How can they pay for like 3 or 4 whole videos (I'm including Fair here) and NONE have surfaced. Technically they shot a video for the Gunna song, there's way more footage with them actually singing their parts in outfits we didn't even see in the Dopamine trailer thing.

I'm genuinely confused why they wasting all that material?? Like somebody needs to clear it over at RCA. :bird:

She will not because she is the problem. It's not RCA that refuses to release the visuals. It's not RCA that refuses to communicate with fans. It's RCA that doesn't use socials to promote music. It's not RCA that refuses to make the music genre that the label is asking but don't wanna listen then do r&b just for it to flop. It's not RCA that invest way too much money on vidéos then don't releases it. She can go on any label it Will be the same, just like her team. She changed and we are in a even worst situation. With Normani don't expect nothing

Like it's not important who parris is booked by if the choreos she is giving Normani aren't good..

Can't we just STOP this crazy "doesn't care" / lazy rhetoric.

I will be the first to drag Mani where needed, but as we have long ascertained in this thread, something is clearly awry label-side.

How can people literally MAKE UP notions of laziness without details. It's weird.

Someone reliable on Twitter has seen the Candy Paint video and said that it should be coming soon (they already deleted their tweets though), but she has to "do something first" before she drops it (probably edit it for the millionth time / repost more TikToks - jk). Hope it's true!

Who? Because reliable and Normani don't go together. We've had some reliable sources say soon and tease collabs that never happen.

I lowkey expect this. Normani will have to do *something* before any of her new content releases. Whether that's freaky tales promo, tiktoks, big brand deal, a collab, etc. who knows.

With that said, Normani is getting doomed at RCA. Too much of the same type of artist at one label. Tate, Victoria, etc. Normani gotta leave that label and she would immediately get (forced) to release music often.

If nothing changes soon-ish, then I really want her to go the RAYE route. Speak up and out.

I really believe in strategy and relationships, which is a big part of what making it in the industry relies on. So, until now, I've always pushed back on suggestion that Mani speak up about what's going on behind the scenes. For instance, publicly dragging a particular label, could see her find its very same exec as her boss at another label. Put simply, it's not worth having bad blood in the industry.

However, I very much think we are at the juncture of: what is there to lose? In my

mind, 15k-20k first week sales is kind of the expected/accepted small act/niche act/flop-but-its-ok act barometer. Mani did essentially half of that. Just saying this to really put into context how in the trenches things actually are.

I say that  to say, when Raye spoke up about her dire label situation, demanded and received her release, she garnered attention and rallied support that was never available to her before. She then scored a viral hit being semi-indie and it changed EVERYTHING. Though still a new act to most, she's nominated for Grammys, performing at the Grammys, booking all the promo slots both home and away, and made Brits history.

Not to say that is guaranteed to be Mani's trajectory, but *anything* is better than rotting on RCA's roster like she has been. And what's worse, it's giving the false illusion (to even her fans) that she's "lazy" or "unwilling." There may be some micro adjustments she can make, but I'm very much getting that there are some macro issues beyond her control and when we finally get the tea, it will be like the "oooooooo, that's so sad/crazy/unfair" moment.

Beyond the general bs of the "era", I clocked it big time when she and Khalid reunited and RCA (their joint label) opted to plunge the little money they did spend behind pushing his Ayra Starr track (despite Khalid and Mani's past success together AND the fact that they are both on RCA. Put simply, any spend would be great ROI for the label in terms of dually benefiting the buzz of two acts signed to…them. But no, they pushed something/someone external instead. That said it all really.

They've been a long time Nation and I don't see any motive for them to lie about it but we'll just have to wait and see I guess.

I'm soo confused why y'all want visuals from an album almost a year old that didn't do well?! None of the songs went viral to make any noise. If anything this visuals will just further illustrate that none of those songs are hits. Best thing for her to do is MOVE on. Unfortunately her budget for whatever she puts out is gonna be even worse so I don't know
