I just don't care enough to keep "predicting" that they "will do more promo eventually" this is what it is y'all. Ok! And there's a reason Wheresjay is GONE. There's 0 reason to believe more *consistent* promo will come. Unless one of those songs start moving on tiktok, the era is going to be very random and patchy. That's why I'm not sold on the concept of a tour because Chloe Bailey (for example) had her tour booked before release week. That's the normal way artists do it no matter how big or small they are. Normani has no tour booked to our knowledge, no tv promo (the late night shows are about to go on summer break), no festival dates, literally just silence as usual. It's clear they don't want to push this album much. The reasoning will become clear eventually but for now, idk what is going on at Normani HQ. At least the album sounds good and fresh. 5 1

It's just weird cause ppl who usually have inside knowledge claimed there was going to be traditional promo. Seems like a lot got cancelled in the last couple of months since 1:59 was released… 4

ariesgroove Posted June 24 Posted June 24 hey she charted, a blessing given how terrible rca's been with her 3
justifymythreads Posted June 25 Posted June 25 (edited) But my question in all of this was what was the hold up? Like so don't get the pushing back of the visuals and why were they filmed so late. I mean she had literally a year since she departed from S10. She should've been planning her roll-out then. Why was she still filming all the way up until May? Like why would RCA put any money into filming if they planned on not promoting at all. I'm not understanding her and her teams logic. 1:59 should've never been a single. That was a waste of money. Like I don't get what her team was going for. I think her indecisiveness hinders her more than it helps her. Like how hard is it to lock down a solid Tracklist. Most artists start with a statement single that would've been Candy Paint. Still/Allyours/Big Boi could've made a nice summer single. With Tantrums/Insomnia closing the era in the Fall/Winter. I personally think RCA is tired of spending money and decided to cut the budget. I wouldn't be surprised they probably thought that the whole R&B route wasn't going to see huge numbers (and they were right). I think she could still save the album with some performances and the MV's. But the whole there so much more in store makes me think that this either was a throw away album with another one coming soon that will see more support or that she's trying to save face before she leaves RCA or before they drop her. Spicy_TyTy Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Damn!! All we wanted was the album and we got it, but it's so hard not to expect more of her with it. It's so hard to stan this girl, just announce something.

Yeah I guess RCA wanted her to do POP because her core fanbase is pop friendly and that's what I was afraid about at the beginning of the era, is deviating from what people that supports you the most is a good idea ? We now got an answer. I guess now she has to stick to the type of music she choose to do and develop a fanbase from there. Good news it's good music so she found people that it speaks too. On X i saw a lot of young black girls around 20's - 30´s that love the album and they are mostly R&B lovers. She should try to reach more to that audience but also it's a waste of opportunity to not give something to eat to pop listeners aside Take my time
AntiHarmony Posted June 25 Posted June 25 While this album definitely isn't doing the numbers they would like, there are some positives. While 12K sales is kinda low, this is a pure digital album, not physical copies at all. It still garnered millions of streams and is on par with a lot of her R&B peers and this was done with a horrible rollout and lack of actual promo. I'm sure if the rollout was better and they actually invested the numbers would've been much better. I'm hoping that even if the label decides to stop pushing it, she continues to. Here's to hoping we actually get the music videos and some performances. Also would not be a bad idea for her to do her own performances and upload them herself. Also I hope the label is taking a look at all of positive reception the album has gotten since it's release. Lastly with Terrell debuting his new after show with her, I'm hoping she uses it to premiere her videos(or at least perform). Probably won't happen but we can hope. 4
Givemeyourcoat Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Still no music videos, Normani barely connecting with us, the album bombed, the internet is lying his ass of for it, tour still not annonced, we don't know when all this mess will go away. Why can't we have nice things ? 😭 1

Maybe because I expected the numbers but some people are having a meltdown off of pure speculation that nothing is coming when Normani was on live pretty happy and excited for things to come. Maybe she's the last to get the bad news you guys seem to be anticipating but I can't have a meltdown based on possibilties and no information. That's insane to me 3

Why isn't she performing at the BET awards 5 years and no appearances their she gonna want to be at the VMAs in the fall right but her output should regress her to perform outside rather then mainstage 1

They'd probably offer her the pre-show tbh.

She doesn't need the US market to be successful. Lucky Daye has a grammy and tons of industry respect. He makes pure r&b and never been really exposed to a general public audience, so there's no real gauge for his success. ZORBIT Posted June 26 Posted June 26 At first it felt frustrating feeling like her new management isn't doing anything but then again after reading Lydia's handling of Hot Pink & how that catapulted Doja, I'm having hope like a BET Performance would be a collapse 1

Arianna Kylie Posted June 26 Posted June 26 nothing but assumptions in this thread lol y'all lose ur minds over assumptions everytime. 2
Sad Beautiful Tragic Posted June 26 Posted June 26 She did better than Chloe, who had extensive exposure with multiple music videos, performances, and a physical release, so selling 12k purely through digital sales is impressive. 4
