Normani

I'm confused though? If it's a re-release; than maybe that's were the Doja collaboration will be released. We also heard that her and Ari had something together as will as Justin. Maybe her team is going to push one of these collabs and see where the chips may fall. I personally think she could've released at least the 1:59 mv just for some extra padding especially since they actually made the effort to send it to radio. I think this is where Normani should've told them not to spend money. 1:59 should've been a promo single and nothing else. It's also weird how they literally did a few interviews and never really did any pushing of the album. Which makes me think the visuals will come at a later date. Also, no performances at all. I think that either the only singles will be CP and 1:59 and when she releases the Deluxe those will have more singles on it.

It did better than I thought it would.

The numbers are very bad but it can't get worse for the next album I guess. The album has potential it's very disappointing if her team can't generate something from it…

If anything these numbers tell us what could've been had they did a proper rollout.

As far as numbers, my expectations is like 15,000k right now so pretty low . Let's see if they actually get a pre-order up for physical copies and of course there's still Candy Paint's potential if they release it before the album.

Not far from what I predicted. :clap3:I think at this point, I expected we would have at least one video to add to the album sales.

I feel like weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. It's either we go up from here, or we go down from here.

We need the music videos and the live performances. That is where she excels the most.

You guys should be proud you all made it to this moment with her and she was at least able to get it out. She's working as evidenced by her recent appearances. Let's let mama get situated.

And not only that they didn't even do the bare minimum for this rollout. Tems debuted at 56 on the billboard hot 200 and sold 16.5k but she got a video for a single, cds available and a performance on Kimmel. Lucky Daye also performed Soft at Fallon/Kimmel. The song didn't chart anywhere and he has vinyls available but i don't expect him to sell that much. I expect him to do about the same amount as Tems. They literally didn't even invest the bare minimum into Normani like the other acts so i don't get why people are pretending these numbers would be shocking for rca  :deadbanana:.

RCA posted a video on their IG page of Normani like two days ago and i did notice Normani liked the post and her hairstylist commented on it with fire emojis. I just don't think she would be engaging with their social media if she was unhappy or something

I hate when y'all do comparisons. Tems has a whole grammy, she is on fire in the UK and outside the US. She doesn't need the US market to be successful. Lucky Daye has a grammy and tons of industry respect. He makes pure r&b and never been really exposed to a general public audience, so there's no real gauge for his success.

Normani's number should be expected but she needs to do better domestically, internationally, or get acclaimed (like H.E.R). If she's not doing those things, she will end up dropped from RCA. It's that simple.

Her team at least got her that Coach/Vogue collab so that's nice and hopefully they keep her booked, in mags, get the damn tour going, and get her tv or online performances. People wanna see the songs brought to life. If no videos are shot, then you need to PERFORM.

This ! That's why I don't know why they say she will be fine…

I said what I said. :celestial5: I see what tems spotify numbers are now and she was hot a few years ago and now people are talking about ayra/tyla. She's not bringing in big numbers/money like she once was which is what I was comparing. Same with Lucky Daye... I was comparing NUMBERS and people saying she was going to get dropped. I love Lucky Daye and so I know his audience because I am apart of it and have been for years.  There's still a bunch of artists on every label that no one knows that's still signed. Normani's budget might be decreased to a small number but being dropped.... ehh. I don't agree. Flo Milli has been signed to RCA for years and released albums with no grammys and without high numbers and she's still signed.

Anyways yes she needs to perform in as many places as possible.

oh this is a nice surprise. perched

We deserved 1 video and 1 performance for release week and I'm sure it would've done at least a little bit better. I just don't care enough to keep "predicting" that they "will do more promo eventually" this is what it is y'all.

I hate that they let this album flop this badly for a two reasons:

#1: It's a solid body of work that deserved a moment

#2: It's not fair, but once the "FLOP!" label attaches to you, it's super hard to get ride of it. (E.g.: *That* Ciara gif still being a thing)

Mani reputation is being sabotage, moving on from a song the day after she releases it and now flop 😭

Ok! And there's a reason Wheresjay is GONE. There's 0 reason to believe more *consistent* promo will come. Unless one of those songs start moving on tiktok, the era is going to be very random and patchy.

That's why I'm not sold on the concept of a tour because Chloe Bailey (for example) had her tour booked before release week. That's the normal way artists do it no matter how big or small they are.

Normani has no tour booked to our knowledge, no tv promo (the late night shows are about to go on summer break), no festival dates, literally just silence as usual. It's clear they don't want to push this album much. The reasoning will become clear eventually but for now, idk what is going on at Normani HQ. At least the album sounds good and fresh.
