I think she needs to sell this album to the public and get the numbers up before they okay another one. Which is why she needs to be smart in which singles she picks. She already messed up releasing 1:59 as a single. All yours is okay but to me isn't eye catching enough. Little Secrets, Big Boy, and Tantrums to me are all more single worthy than CP at this point. Yes, CP is one of the only uptempo-ish song but Little Secrets to me is more interesting to listen to maybe because we've heard CP for atleast 2 years straight. Tantrums could work in the Fall as a send off. Big Boy or Still have been getting the most attention overall though.

I think she only picked CP cause that's what fans kept begging for since that leaked footage of her and her friends dancing to it at the Wild Side listening party or whatever event that was.

I think if fans knew what was in store they would have never went to bat for CP.

She'd need the $ for a performance too. And we don't really know if she's in the good graces of RCA to secure the budget for that.

if she wanst in good graces would they even allow her to release the album? That doesnt make sense. This entire rollout has been strange.

Maybe just to drop the album and let her go if it doesn't perform well?

I have so many thoughts right now. I'm starting to wonder if this album is really 'the one.' I like it, and the songs are nice, but a lot of people aren't that impressed. Maybe the live performances and visuals will help turn things around. I just hate that the haters now have ammunition against her. I really hope she does a complete 180 soon.

Her entire rollout, starting from the album announcement (without a set date!) back in February has been weird.

They announced the album in February, without a date people could look forward to.

A month later they announced the first single.

Another month later the first single was released without a music video or any live performances to support it.

A week after the single came out, they announced the album's date.

After that: Crickets for another month until she dropped the album trailer.

After that, damn near 3 more weeks of very little promo, besides one magazine spread, the release party and the one filmed interview.

It's puzzling. They obviously spent money on the trailer, so why aren't they using those visuals to support the album?

Why announce the album 4 months in advance without giving fans the opportunity to preorder physicals?

What are they waiting for?

They either have no clue what they're doing, no budget to work with, things keep going wrong due to factors beyond their control or they're thinking they are playing 4D chess, not realizing they are losing in all four dimensions...

Okay upon digesting everything, this is how playlisting & singles should have been handled AFTER 1:59 (since why rehash that?).

Big Boi - US spotify & Apple Music playlisting

Big Boi - immediate impact for Urban and Rhythmic radio with radio promo tour (breakfast club/hot 97, etc.), music video (inspired by Beyonce - Check on it, the body roll could be a whole tiktok challenge

 )

Take My Time - EUROPE, Aus, etc Spotify and Apple music playlisting

Take My Time - released to UK radio (her second strongest market)

-

Now only because they forced out Candy Paint early, I would feel obligated under this strategy to release some kind of mini video maybe a quick "shot on iPhone" situation with some clothes she has laying around. Joya and another of her other background dancer friends could do a bit of choreography as a trio.

Just keep it super low budget, should have dropped release night just for fun or even today. Either way, Candy Paint as a full single should be scrapped. Big Boi has more of the potential then a Megan remix makes sense there. That's more Megan's speed than Still and these other songs people suggesting for a remix.

Normani; wherever you are this is how you get the album back on track.

First off rescind 1:59 from radio and send Still instead. The GP/R&B listeners like that one the most and it hits for the summer, and fall. Then release CP to pop radio and rhythmic and release the video. Then release tantrums in the fall as the final single with a moody with similar aesthetics as the first dose trailer. Then boom you have an actual era with longevity.

Also, perform at some festivals to build your profile up and then go for a small 20 city tour with 10k capacity. Be prepared to release next year because you need to get back in public's good graces.

I don't know about Candy paint … I'll release take my time instead for the pop listeners. It's house influenced, easy to listen to, and have catchy lyrics.

Like i dont get it. It seems like common sense to have a variety of interviews (radio, tv, print) lined up for the week of album release as well as atleast one tv performance and a MV for Candy Paint. That's bare minimum, not exactly rocket science. If Tems, another RCA artist that just released their debut album can do these things then Normani should be able to as well. I can only believe her team is sleeping at the wheel and its unacceptable at this point.

Big Boy is catchy but I don't think it's gonna age well, still is the better choice.
id say for this summer Take my time for pop listeners / Still for the hood

For fall id day : All yours it's moodier, the sun is going down earlier, we think about Christmas and all. But all yours is a fav.
But if we are being realistic she is gonna push Candy paint because of the pictures we saw some days ago…

She can't make mistakes !!!

I'm sorry. I don't think any of those would work as singles at all. They are great album tracks like 1:59.

All Yours, Still, Take My Time (I hate to say it), Lights On, and Insomnia have way more potential. Lights On and Insomnia could be pushed as fall/winter singles.

Omg 100 % right !!

i forgot about insomnia but yeah great choice as a fall single !

Yeah I said Big Boy simply because if you look at the album page on itunes Big Boy, Still, All Yours, Tantrums, and Insomnia are the highest in popularity.

I'm pretty sure this is the All Yours video shoot? I mean it is the only song with french lyrics. Also I'm getting a little bit of an upgrade u vibe from that look in the pic.

They are saying in the comments it's just a video. I think it's something about fashion maybe a ad for a brand or something. I hope she spoke about Take my time cause it has potential to do well in France

I'm seeing the opposite. A lot of people who were just casual listeners have really enjoyed this album.

Exactly what I was saying. There's no reason she would be filming in africa and france if it wasn't for a mv. I even think we're going to get some bts footage as well as Kwasi mentioned a whole visual album.

Her creative director mentioned a visual album?

Alsooo if I had to guess

2021 an album was ready to go but her parents were both sick and then Tunji left keep cool leaving her to impress new label heads

Fair flopping freaked them out, issues with management and her dad being sick. 2023 was the reset year with new management and here we are now. It makes sense and it's unfortunate, of course she'd never truly speak on it but I assume this is what roughly went down. Sucks watching your career happen like this and not being able to speak on it

The way she still hasn't posted a single TikTok since the album came out :gaycat6: Not that it'd make a massive difference, but at least try, girl

y'all sit up on here and lie because people have been ranting and raving. it's more disappointment that it wasn't pushed because it's so good.
