I understand but she's capping the reach with it.

@WheresJay you never told or gave any hint about the the tracklist of Dopamine. How many tracks ? More than 10 tracks ?

1:59 is soooo good. It really feels like what Aaliyah would have done if she did another album and got more into her freaky side.

Love the ad libs at the beginning and her vocals throughout. There's something special about this record.

Nah..Aaliyah was scheduled to work with Trent Reznor and Johnathan Davis. So an alt rock sound was more of what she was headed towards.

Like the song and can't wait to hear the album :jamming:

I know they were trying to film it last year and shuffling through directors. Not sure what came to be. Haven't heard anything about a finished product but I hope ENK is right!

I said the same thing she keeps saying she's shooting something special if it was MV she would've just said I'm on set shooting a MV but she keeps using the word special so I think it's a vevo live performance🤔  and if so don't they normally sing 2 songs on there 1:59 and wild side intimate performance on the horizon let me dream guys 😅😂

I can't believe some people are trying to have a gotcha moment with Mani pulling 900k streams. I'm honestly proud of her because a lot of us was expecting way less than that. I really hope to see the song keep on growing because if it has longevity, this will shut so many people up, and I can't wait to see that happen.

Just realized the black rocket on the album cover looks like the black missiles from Mario games

Not sure what to say about that.... I don't know for others, but whenever I get to hear the live performances of songs before they are actually released, it kind of loses their spark (might be different if you heard the studio version before, was just saying from the perspective of hearing only the snippet) , especially since it tends to different quite a bit from the final version of the song.

Also, after 2 more listens, I actually got into 1:59. It's really good and quite a grower actually! I have a feeling they started the era with it so it can start the hype for the album. In a way, I think it might be for the best they didn't start with the best song from the album, so the overall perception of the album itself after the first listen to be a positive one instead of having higher expectations that aren't going to be met. I do feel like 1:59 could work as the intro or 2nd track of the album (which could have been followed nicely by Wild Side if they decide to keep it on the album).

About Candy Paint as a single (or other more uptempo song), that would probably best to be pushed during the album release as they usually send 1 song to playlists. It might as well give more visibility and push for the album as it's also out rather than just hype it only for people to start forgetting about it as the time goes by.

As for the album itself, personally, I wouldn't mind more songs as 1:59, as long as they flow well as a work of body. Something like this, Wild Side and Waves would make for a really good album.

Sorry for the wall of text lol. :coffee:
