Normani needs to focus on creating a strong relationship with her fans during this era. They don't thrust her no more and even people that used to defend her all the time are tired. She needs to stop playing. I hope she vlogs/ do release parties / live twitch or instagram / hope a private space like discord. I don't understand she literally was in a band that was quite close to its fanbase ( it wasn't perfect trust me) why can she be aspired by that ?

I know it means something but "viral hate tweets" mean nothing especially when the song is not even out yet. The average person is not sitting on twitter judging snippets from an unreleased song. That's something stans do... . The average person waits until they see the song on their apple music and spotify and makes a judgement then if they like a song or not. I would understand if someone said to change the single after the song flopped but it hasn't even flopped yet. People just didn't want her to release a song this slow lol

So the official stance is, she's just dropping random music and the album is coming regardless of any other factor, in May?

 

Who is going on the record (with their atrl credibility) and cosigning that statement? I'm not opposed to a MayMani album, just need the confirmation.

That would be cute! It'd definitely work on there  and build up an even bigger audience for Normani while Candy Paint smashes on all the other formats. I always thought they should've sent Wild Side to Urban AC (the solo version, of course) and was surprised they never capitalized on the opportunity.

Yes one of them said it in this thread. They said 1:59 won't be the only song for long and Where'sJay even said that maybe there would be a double release with 1:59 and candy paint but obviously didn't happen.

 

The May date didn't come from them though. It came from the pulse insider who has proven to be very reliable for a bunch of artists but he deleted his account for some reason. Screenshots from his were everywhere recently not just from this fandom but for another fandom.... so I guess maybe something happened which caused him to delete his account but he said the idea was still for her album to be released in May.

1:59 is a good album track, nothing for first single. Wild Side is about 10x better but still I'm excited she's back. Candy Paint needs to drop with the quickness

If there isn't a music video and if this is just a buzz single, I don't see why they couldn't have just done a double release with the actual single
