I really don't think is true and i really wish 5h stans could just see things for what they are instead of going the conspiracy route. First off it would make zero sense for all of them to tease for years that albums were coming if they were stuck in a contract. Doesn't anyone think one of them would have hinted at only being able to release songs and not a full project in years? Surely Ally would have hinted at it by now but she hasn't. The simple truth is Normani and her label seemed to be having issues and the rest of them just weren't successful enough for a label to invest in a full length album. Now Lauren and Dinah are independent. Being independent means they have to pay for things themselves and i don't think 5h stans realize how much money studio time, producers, other songwriters etc costs. It's not as simple as just wanting to release an album. you need money to do it on your own. Their 5h contract with epic is probably over but if we are being honest it probably has been over. It takes some labels months/years to update their website like it literally means nothing 4
TizTiz Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 If the news about "Candy Paint" not being released as a single is true- I'll take a step further and say scrap the song COMPLETELY. We've never needed an urban sequel to "Motivation". I want Normani to focus on timeless music and pushing whatever genre she entertains forward and not get so hung up on dated music for the sake of "90s/2000s aesthetics. I've never thought CP was anything more than a glorified demo. As much as y'all hate "Fair", to me it's better (live) than a 2002 house party opener. I gleefully enjoy "Waiting For You", and it's fan made concept, but I'm glad it hasn't made the final track list because it's also dated. If she is holding her album up, by 6 years, I hope it's due to creating more quality, timeless music and less Aaliyah tributes. With her being signed to one of the most problematic, unequipped labels in history, she'll need quality music to hold her up! 1 3

It takes some labels months/years to update their website like it literally means nothing Except that was never the case. Ally had been teasing a full length project since 2020. Since then she has been dropping singles up until 2021. I think she got dropped from her label late 2022. I think the main problem is that like you mentioned they don’t have the fanbase anymore to keep their music afloat anymore. Even Lauren who was arguably the second most popular member after Camila has faded into obscurity. So of course the others will obviously do the same. What I think is happening. Is that someone at Epic had been in contact with some of the show runners to keep most of the girls from getting radio play and spots on tv. I remember when the girls first disbanded Lauren was asked to perform at all these festivals. Now we barely hear about her. I think the major obstacle is trying to separate themselves from 5h. Just think about it. 5h was a kiddie teen pop whose song’s were mostly surface level dance tracks. It’s hard trying to market someone with a fan base who is used to that music as anything other than pop/teen pop. I’m assuming the girls were forced to make pop music and their respective labels didn’t want them doing anything else. However, I think Normani’s saving grace was as she was the least popular member at the time nobody expected anything from her. She then was able to do more mid-temp pop/R&B which cultivated her own fans outside of 5h. Hence, why she is seen as her own entity outside of 5H. Also, why Camila isn’t as popular as she used to be as her popularity stems from her being the popular 5H member. Now that 5h is done she has no one to “outshine” other than her peers such as Ariana and Dua. Which she hasn’t been able to do. Also, from that leaked Brandon video I can also assume his attitude may have hindered her career as well. 1

She’s on her 4th album after completing her 3 album contract with epic. After #1 hits and Grammys she’s established herself as a Latin pop artist so she’s carved her own lane. Which is why she is booked so easily in major festivals in latin America in stadiums. Now the other girls are struggling with the same thing which is finding their lane and what makes them stand out and unique. Lauren so far is the only one that’s kind of done it out of the 4. Normani and her label are still stuck trying to figure out who she is as an artist. Which is why we keep getting singles and then entire album being scrapped. Now trying to stand out now in the RNb world is gonna be hard. Dancing was her thing but now so many artist are doing that

Now trying to stand out now in the RNb world is gonna be hard. Dancing was her thing but now so many artist are doing that Actually it's not conspiracy theory. It was revealed before each girl had signed 5 albums contract (non-collective - individual) through Simon. Camila: 5H1, 5H2, CC1, CC2, CC3 > Interscope Records. When Camila left 5H, 4H girls signed another deal as a quartet (collective) Quote Details of the Sony Music Entertainment deal. The new deal is a multi-album, multi-million dollar contract with the smaller Fifth Harmony. And Sony Music is now gunning to propel this group into mega-stardom. Already, the slimmed-down foursome is in the studio with plans for a 2017 album release. Source Source 2 Hence, none of them can release an album, just EP. Until this contract expires (most likely standard 7 years) 2024 might be their lucky year.

Until this contract expires (most likely standard 7 years) 2024 might be their lucky year. I love Normani and I really enjoyed 5H when they were a 5 piece as well as 4 piece but my issue with a lot of what happened is not with the girls but with the fans. Is there any actual PROOF of what their contracts were and what they were after camila left? It's just pure fan speculation. All 5h stans did were make things up and pass things around as if it's the truth. Normani signed a deal totally separate from simco and whatever deal 5h had. How do I know this? Because her solo music when it was first released says keep cool/rca. Whereas both camila and lauren still were associated with simco. You can literally go on apple music and see. No way Normani was able to a sign completely different deal and not be able to release albums. Why would any other label want to sign them if that were the case?? 5H stans constantly did this. I remember a bunch of ppl saying how they were all turning down deals when they first went solo and ally said on her podcast during the pandemic that she met and spoke to several labels when they first went solo and literally no one wanted to sign her. The girls are older now. We can be honest about what things really are.

None of this would stop them from releasing music and even if it were the case they would have clearly said so. Not to mention that both Lauren and Normani both also signed with Sony (Columbia and RCA). Sony isn't blocking Sony artists from releasing music because of contracts they have with Sony.
jdanton2 Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 looks like Normani and Ariana Grande will now have the same manager.

Everything else is coming from her being the most popular in the group and basically building her fan base off of an already existing entity. Camila has always built a lot of her publicity off of the girls. When she first left she gained all the sympathy from the fans because of her alluding to being bullied. After Havana popped off she then gained a ton of new fans. After that momentum wore off she went with the whole Shawn Mendes love story to get publicity and the helped her coast for another album with their collaboration. Ever since then she hasn’t enjoyed the same success as her past endeavors. She needs a gimmick to stay relevant. Also, she doesn’t have Grammys unless you count the Latin Grammy that she has. She’s barely hanging on as her music isn’t selling like that. The only lane she had carved for herself was the Latin pop girl with a unique voice. But times have changed and with actual Latin pop stars taking center stage she needs to do something to set herself apart. It’s funny that you say Norman has no identity but it seems to me that she has proven herself to be more of a visual artist with strong R&B and mid-tempo pop influenced tracks. She to me is more of a grounded and cohesive artist than Camila. But to each is own. Every girl from the group has put out decent music so I’m really not one to down another to lift one up. 1
